just finished the uk (bbc?) series. gonna probably watch the christmas special tuesday and then the netflix season next weekend. initial rankings of the british seasons: 6. The National Anthem 5. 15 Million Merits 4. White Bear 3. The Waldo Moment 2. Entire History of You 1. Be Right Back
Wrapped up the new season today, thought it was strong overall. The only dud was Playtest (which was fine for most of its running time, but I found the ending really underwhelming.) 1. San Junipero 2. Men Against Fire 3. Nosedive 4. Hated in the Nation 5. Shut Up and Dance 6. Playtest
Watching San Junipero again and there are a bunch of moments that are super different the second time around - "the locals, they're like dead people" - Yorkie looking at herself in the mirror while "girlfriend in a coma" plays in the background - Yorkie's reaction to the car crash in the video game and when Kelly almost crashes her car
Finally getting around to watching final episode (Hated in the Nation). I'm an hour into it and couldn't be less interested. This may be my least favorite out of all 3 seasons.
I finished the new season yesterday. For me I thought Playtest and San Junipero were easily the best episodes. San Junipero especially was fantastic Man Under Fire was underwhelming for me as it had the exact same twist as that b-movie 'The 5th Wave' that came out earlier this year (humans killing other humans because of technology). I thought Nosedive was a fairly silly episode, couldn't buy into the premise at all
I know there's no plot continuity in this show, beyond similar themes, but I love that the ending of Playtest basically lays down the groundwork for the technology most of the episodes are based around
I want them to make an episode about a Augmented Reality game where you're a serial killer who gets to murder anyone in the game that they see in real life. Of course the main character ends up being immersed and murders a few people by accident. Maybe a parent or a loved one. Could be wayyy fucked
Went back and watched the previous seasons. Man, that Christmas episode is legit. That was some good tv.
This was my first time going through the older episodes. There were some cool episodes in there, but that White Christmas episode was awesome.
Started watching this show from the beginning after hearing it mentioned on The Watch podcast (Chris Ryan/Andy Greenwald formerly of Grantland, now The Ringer). They have a great episode of the podcast where they rank their favorites from the first two seasons that you can listen to here: Ep. 89: ‘Black Mirror,’ and Jimmy Eat World Re-up — The Watch — Overcast Every week they are including discussion in the podcast about the new episodes... I think they have done the first three so far. Anyways, after hearing them bring it up I stopped listening and over the next few days watched all of the first two seasons + White Christmas. I agree with everyone here that s01e01 is distributing, but I actually found it to be a fitting beginning to the series. I've enjoyed every episode to varying degrees but I definitely would rank "The Entire History of You", "White Christmas" and "White Bear" as my top three and would put "The Waldo Moment" at the bottom. I watched the first two episodes of season 3 today and officially need to take a break. Whew. I feel like I've been punched in the gut
San Junipero, White Christmas, Entire History of You and White Bear are all my top tier episodes Second tier are Fifteen Million Merits, Be Right Back, Nosedive, Playtest
slowly making my way through the non-netflix ones. watched be right back and white bear back-to-back and needed to take a break. both of them were incredible but super intense. excited for the waldo moment cause it seems a little less intense. can't wait to get to the christmas special.
Wow how did I not catch this soundtrack was by him? The best in the biz IMO. Makes perfect sense now haha.
