    can't believe there wasn't a thread for this. As much as I appreciate how beautiful and reserved Calvacade is, this is what I want from Black Midi. Wild album

    Yeah, this is very good. Never really gave them much of a chance before this album, but I'm loving the jazz fusion and zappa influences here.

    Hellfire is great! I like that it's more chaotic than Cavalcade. That trio Sugar/Tzu - Eat Men Eat - Welcome to Hell is vicious!

    The Race is About to Begin has Zappa all over it

    so this band did a session with Steve Albini that came out on various flexis with pre-orders of this. I've got a compilation of the full thing, if anyone wants it just PM me

    I saw Cameron Picton tonight and had a great time and also got to meet him after the show.

    I never got to see Black Midi live but now have now seen two members solo in 2025 (I saw Geordie back in January) which is nice. He said he’s working on a solo album so I would say expect that sometime this year.

    what is the record of theirs to check out? i want to enjoy but everything I've heard at this point just sounds like British primus
