This is unbelievably good, just one of the best bands going right now. Constantly astonished by the wealth of creativity coming out of the new UK post-punk scene and these guys really feel like they’re at the forefront of it all.

maybe this time, I won't be alright Supporter

This album gives me the same kinda feelings I got when I heard Beat Pyramid by These New Puritans 13 years ago and I can pay it no higher compliment than that.

I feel like I should be all about this band, but I honestly couldn’t get into their last record, and I tried. I’ll give the new one a listen tomorrow.

This album's alright. Pretty run of the mill avant garde prog rock and that's gonna be the hill I die on. Loved their debut to death, but I just don't see the hype around this one.

Can’t quite say I enjoyed this, but certainly an interesting listen

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

had a hard time with this too, they're obviously insanely talented but it just doesn't translate to songs I like a lot of the time, for whatever reason

    "Dethroned" is sick tho

I think that's the first time i've seen "run of the mill", "avant garde" and "prog rock" used to describe anyone haha. Who else do you think they sound like?

Has supplanted Squid has my album of the year. Did not care at all for their first one but this one strikes the right chord. The soft parts give a bit of a breather and still maintain interest while the crazy parts are so out there, however, there is still some underlying melodies under the chaos.

The closest to this album I've heard this year would be Odd Circus's EP.

If you want some avant-prog that I see myself returning to more than this, I'd say stuff by The Mercury Tree and Edge of Reality.

apparently there's a cover of TSwift's "Love Story" in existence. I would very much like to hear this

The amount of bonus material they've assembled for this is wild. I don't know if there's even more, but this is what I've come across so far.

"Introduction" - separate introductory track that opens the physical editions
    "Cruising" - Japanese bonus track
Japanese bonus disc (labelled "Covercade" from where I grabbed it) - covers of Springsteen, Cate Le Bon, Bjork, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Carpenters, Tony Williams Lifetime, and some other little bits (apparently this is mostly from Geordie's radio show last year??)
Five separate flexi disc covers - Taylor Swift, Talking Heads, Captain Beefheart, King Crimson, and Prince

The Taylor Swift cover seems to be the only thing that hasn't surfaced online yet. the rest can be found in scattered threads on their subreddit

But almost none of this was particularly good, was it? I do like the Introduction and Cruising!

Those two are great. The King Crimson cover is really cool too. The other flexi covers I’ve heard (Talking Heads and Captain Beefheart), a bit less. I haven’t properly listened to the bonus disc stuff yet.

My vinyl copy included a coming book with the lyrics. Did anyone else also receive it?

the Love Story cover is..... not good, haha. But it's interesting I suppose. Musically it's fantastic but vocally it doesn't work at all
