weird how it's a rock band distributed by a major label, though it is the UK so things are different over there, but i was just thinking how few rock bands (other than big radio rock bands) actually ever go to major labels anymore
Yea I thought that was interesting. I think they would be bigger but the singers vocal style is probably too different for most people
They supported Nothing But Thieves and some other bands in London a few months ago that have a far more commercial/indie rock sound, yet this is obv influenced by MO/Brand New type sound, so it'll be interesting seeing the direction they go on later in their career, would guess away from this but idk
The drum production on this album is so fucking good. Makes me want to thrash my living room everytime the first song kicks into high gear
I need to listen to this more. My only qualms with the record is that the vocals get a little grating after a while. He's a good singer but relys too much on dramatics in his voice for emotion
I put the "whininess" on the same level as All Get Out. I like everything else enough that the vox don;t get in the way
Been hearing/seeing the buzz about these guys on here and other places for a while and finally listened today. This album fucking slays. Love it.
Trying not be do ridiculous but this is probably the best new band I've heard in a LONG time. I cannot stop listening to this album.
I've really got into this album since the start of the year. Amazing that a 3 piece band can make such a dynamic sound. Regretting not including it in my EOTY list because it's definitely worthy.
It was number 5 for me.. yea I mean the guitars are super layered so that helps with the full sound.. that being said I've watched live videos of them playing as a three piece and it's incredible. He uses two amps so he can get two different tones.
Listened to these guys for the first time this morning when the second half of the spotlight list was posted. I haven't stopped listening since. Damn
