I had only heard "Science Fair" heading into this one so I was intrigued but didn't know what else to expect. This is a game changer in the post punk genre. As much as I like the Shames and Deepers of the genre, this brings so much new to this style of music. There are enough Interpol knockoffs, it's time we get something new.
Science Fair might be my favorite. I don’t know. I really love the whole album, but the entire second half of that song is a trip.
lol, I had this on at work again and my rep asked who it was and added it to his phone. it’s so weird to me that of all the albums I’ve played in here over the years that THIS is the one people have been asking about
This record is so interesting! Took me through the weekend to get to it because of all the great stuff that came out but I want to get lost in it. “Track X” does God’s work in sequence.
Prior to throwing this record on, On the Run by Pink Floyd was the only song that’s ever scared me. Science Fair has now joined that list. Incredible track though
This is by far one of the most interesting, surprising, intriguing debut releases I’ve ever heard. Feeling lost for words.
I need to give "Track X" a closer listen because it's definitely the one that sticks out to me the least so far.
Honestly, I didn't want to come across like a dick in this thread by saying what I think of the vocals and the lyrics, while everyone else is enjoying it. I do really like it, musically. It stutters and flows, it's angular but has hooks, and I like the mix of instrumentation.
no worries. not every voice is for everyone. there are several singers people around here adore that I loathe and just do not get. maybe you'll warm up to them, maybe not. there's at least something in the instrumentals to draw you back in tho, so you never know
normally, they probably wouldn't be my thing either but there's just something about how everything coalesces here that just makes it all work for me
