For one, the “fuck me like you mean it” bit was cut. That was the most noticeable part to me. It sounds a little less chaotic, too - but it’s still wild.
has a really cool post-rock kinda intro and then... It is pretty much the same with the profanity removed and Isaac's vocals are super reserved and honestly bored-sounding
first time listening to this band and I'm absolutely blown the fuck away.. this might sound weird but its like a super aggressive Leonard Cohen singing over frantic Skramz tunes
Just listened to the original version of Sunglasses and I'm not even really sure what to say. Absolutely fucking thrilling, wildly ambitious music
“I don't think it's an incredible, incredible album, but I do think it's an honest portrayal of what we were like and what we sounded like when those songs were written,” Black Country, New Road frontman Isaac Wood tells Apple Music of his Cambridge post-punk outfit’s debut LP. “I think that's basically all it can be, and that's the best it can be.” I think it's pretty incredible tho
phoeobe bridgers reference in track 2? 'why do you sing with an english accent..guess it's too late to change it now."
I was just playing this at work. Not sure if the customers liked it but my colleague was somewhat surprisingly alllllll about it.
I think that’s my favorite too, it kind of reminds me of something from Sleep Well Beast Beautiful song, hope we get to see more from that side of the band on the next one
This album is really good, I like it! A nice combination of chaos and rest. Sunglasses is still great. The new intro is better, it just takes a bit longer to hear his voice get more agressive. I kinda miss the "Fuck me like you used to"-part, but not in such way that it destroys the song. I will get used to it rather quick.
