Björk: 'It’s no coincidence that the porn industry has embraced virtual reality'

Good little interview with her in the Guardian.

Watch Björk's 360º VR Live Stream | Pitchfork

The video has unfortunately been taken down now though, but she's well into her VR at the mo.

    Björk | Eventim Apollo

Following the rapid sell-out of tickets for Bjork's Royal Albert Hall performance on 21st September, it has been announced that an additional London show will take place at the esteemed Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on 24th September.

These shows are the first in London since the release of her current and critically-adored album ‘Vulnicura’. The London shows happen during the period of the highly-awaited exhibition ‘Bjork : Digital’ which opens at London’s Somerset House on 1st September. The exhibition includes a collection of her digital works - the recent virtual reality videos, interactive apps and archive music videos which resulted from collaborations with some of the finest visual artists and programmers in the world.

Hoping I'll be able to snag tickets tomorrow.

Edit: Actually, fuck that, they're like £100, what the fuck.

Took the plunge and bought them, a whopping £87, wayyyy more than I've ever spent on a gig before. But if I'm going to break the bank, I guess it should be for her!

Finally listened to Post after years of being told I'd like it, by one person in particular.

    Turns out, they were right.

It's oh so quiet? Had you not heard that before? I assume that's what she's most known for ha.

I had only ever heard the song where the video was weird shit like robot-fucking or something.

Ah, that's All Is Full of Love! It's Oh So Quiet was like her one "big" song in the UK, used to be parodied and stuff quite a bit, but maybe it didn't get there in the US!

Other than that any songs stand out from Post?

Honestly it was too much to take in for that much detail. It's very much one that I took in as an ambitious, varied whole.

    Also, in case anyone is unaware, It's Oh So quiet is such an anomaly in her discography partly because it's a cover of a song from the 50s by Betty Huston;

That's fair. It's completely all over the shop stylistically for sure. If you're ever in the mood for more, Debut is similar, but a bit rawer and more spontaneous.

Everything after is much more focused. Homogenic from 97 is big swirling melodramatic swings and beats, whereas Vespertine from 2001 is much more reserved, calm and intimate. Both are equally brilliant.

Homogeic's description there appeals to me greatly.
