I wish I was into birding when we went to Alaska, we saw so many bald eagles and puffins, it was life changing
The concept of wild horses is mind boggling to me, it's just not a thing sound here. On the flip side, I live on a river and there's a bald eagle nest on it and I see them hunting and fishing daily. 15 new birds is awesome for a trip! Leaves you with more to see, but still enough to appreciate all the new life you've seen.
I guess technically they're 'feral' horses since they still have caretakers that come and give them hay and whatnot. Our guide was going into details about how one horse had been trying to get his own harem for years and how another horse got its name because of the marks on his face and so forth. Lots of lore to learn
I've seen the Nashville Warbler! Wish I could see the Bullfinch. Alas, I'll have to cross leagues of water to do so
Quick fix it before they tell every other squirrel. I swear they have meetings on how to bypass them.
unfortunately we're moving at the end of the month and it's to a new development in the middle of nowhere and there are NO trees. everyone just has saplings since all the houses are new so I can't see there even being squirrels
Didn’t have my camera or binocs with us so camera phone didn’t get a good pic, but we saw a Scarlet Tanager yesterday
This heron was hanging out on the river for hours yesterday. Completely okay with the kayakers and paddlers going by.
