Been in Florida all week, seen 10 new birds so far. Coolest sighting so far is a Peregrine Falcon

 

Back home, caught 3 more birds at a quick stop at Clearwater beach on our last day. 13 in all isn't bad but it could have been so much more if I had more time. Unfortunately it was crazy chaotic and I found myself driving a rented van full of children all over creation too often

Do it! There was about 10 this evening and another photographer said there was about 40 this morning fishing out of the lake.

i made @Max_123 go with me to the Audubon and Kingery a few weekends ago and there’s another lake just north of here that is a big birding spot too. They do a bald eagle fest every February

 

with this whole bird flu thing going on, I just wanted to say that I didn't do it. It wasn't me

Also went birding this morning, there's been Green Jay sightings in the area. They usually don't come this far north in Texas but 3-4 of them have been hanging around about 25 minutes southwest of San Antonio. Got to see them this morning, along with a roadrunner and a yellow-bellied sapsucker (new to me). Good Christmas.

 

Hello welcome to day 1 of 365 of 2025. Starting us off is one of the most common birds where I live but I never get tired of seeing them

 

I can't believe I'm already almost missing a day

 

we got plenty of these noisy boys around here. Sometimes they mimic a hawk so well it fools Merlin

 

I wasn't aware the birds repeated and also took up two days????

 

I missed yesterday but it was ANOTHER Blue Jay so who cares. Today we get this pretty boy

Went birding in freezing weather today. Totally recommend, even though I do NOT have the clothing for that here in San Antonio. Saw 4 new species, including 70+ Sandhill Cranes hanging out with some cows. Also had never seen an American Kestrel but today I saw 7! It was a good trip, very cold, and I met two other birders. One invited me to the WhatsApp group for San Antonio Area Bird Notifications. Only took me a year to find them!!
