Ugh, I feel like there is SO much more happening here. Solar Power (and Clairo's Sling) are so sparse that I literally forget I'm listening to music when they're on
Really starting to feel like this is her best record from front to back. She's really matured into something special and Finneas has grown as a producer alongside her. This feels so far from a lot of other mainstream pop releases right now, I think it's really admirable.
As a follow up to Melodrama, Solar Power might be the most disappointed I’ve ever been in an album lol
Yeah, it still doesn't click with me. The tour was great, songs are better live, but that album just did not hit. Melodrama, though, remains a top 10 of mine all time.
Was never really gripped by her vocal style/that kind of production before I guess but I checked this out and I love it, Lunch is on replay in my head and irl, album starts really strong and the last 2 songs might be my fav but there’s no filler, all really solid
The second half of "L’amour de ma vie" is my favourite part of the album. I'd love more stuff like that from her.
Been listening to this every day. It’s perfect to just throw on whenever I’m walking through the neighborhood or driving somewhere. I also agree the P4K review is a little hard, but they sum up my few little quirks: the back to back of Wildflower and The Greatest snoozes, some songs are a little long and/or any of the songs that have the shift in the back end have much stronger or more interesting endings than what precedes them. Not gonna nitpick too much, I usually skip the opener and The Greatest and then I vibe. I don’t traditionally follow Top 40 but not sure if I can see any of these songs hitting the radio with much staying power even though they deserve it.
Love the opener, "The Greatest" is probably my least favorite though This is probably an 8 or an 8.5 for me
this is my favorite album of the year so far weirdly enough I think this is some of the most interesting stuff musically she's done
Yeah, I really love this album. It's mostly all I've listened to since Friday. The transition from Bittersuite into Blue so good.
took a few listens to finally sink in, but this is great. lots of great stuff throughout, but Chihiro and the back half really grabbed me the most.
I actually really like The Greatest, interesting that it's not too popular here. The Diner is the only song here I don't enjoy, that whole aesthetic has really worn off me
