holy shit. they literally recorded it less than 3 months ago. i would have guessed it's the solo album version but this is the band account so it must be the band version

can't wait to see if they tack this onto dragon pt2 or if it's a standalone single

 

Oh boy. Seeing them in Indy on the 26th. I’m gonna be at Pitchfork Friday but I think I’d rather see a non festival set 5 days later. Though they were pretty remarkable 2 years ago when they were second billed before Phoebe Bridgers and honestly blew her out of the water).

 

I’ll be at the Pitchfork set. Palm->MJ Lenderman->Vagabon->Julia Jacklin/Snail Mail->King Krule/Yaya Bey->Weyes Blood->Big Thief is a pretty great way to spend a Saturday.

 

Looks like a 7" is coming out in September with the two songs they recorded in Guissona in April - Vampire Empire and Born For Loving You

Dashing my hopes of a Dragon sessions pt2 release. I'm guessing they wanted to get this out asap while the interest was high and also before Adrianne potentially releases a solo version (hopefully in the fall)

True but those were part of big recording sessions so there was more material to pull from. They could add these two songs onto the 2020 stuff but I think this seems like its own thing. We shall see

songs/instrumentals was a year before the Dragon singles started rolling out. Fall of 2020 'anything' came out less than 2 months before the albums. And fall of 2021 they released a single each month until DNWMIBIY in Feb 2022

Adrianne is live right now on Instagram and someone commented during the live "Is this part of the new album out the 28th?" and idk if they were referring to Big Thief or solo but there's no way...right?

Would love it to be true but I want to say no way to the 28th. This is what we know is coming already:

JUL 19 - Vampire Empire
JUL 26 - Buck single #3 - Cyclades
AUG 25 - Buck solo album
SEP 13 - Born For Loving You
?????? - Adrianne solo album
?????? - Dragon pt2 (maybe never)

VE/BFLY are going to be on a 7” together so a band album at the same time feels like a definite no. Could potentially be a solo album but at most I would think only a single for now and then album in the fall. I doubt 4AD would blow all of their Big Thief hype at once. Would love to be wrong though!

 

New leg of tour, new song debut

Looks like it’s called “Seem”. The setlist said “Solo Seam (acoustic)” but I assume it’s a misspelling of seem based on the lyrics. “Don’t it seem like a good time for swimming”

Edit -nvm, it’s definitely “Seam”, Adrianne mentioned it in her stories

It’s good, I won’t deny that, but I think the Colbert version is better.
