Just got back home from their show in Orlando. First time seeing them. Adrianne seemed to be having a lot of issues that definitely kind of took the wind out of a couple songs, but it was still an unforgettable show for me.

Adrianne talked about hurting her back, so she had to play seated. Seemed like everything would be ok proceeding that way, but then she mentioned that she was using in-ear monitors for the first time ever and a few songs later had to take them out because she said using them basically made her feel like she was tripping.

After that I remember it taking the band quite a while to recalibrate, I assume to adjust the stage monitors to accommodate her or something. Anyways, they couldn’t finish Cattails after having to stop and restart it due to continued sound issues according to Adrienne’s comments.

But once they could get out of those rough patches, they would really let it rip. Flower of Blood felt as ethereal as I’d hoped. They seemed to really turn loose on a couple of the newer songs that I went into kind of cold on, so that was cool.

They also started the set with a song that was reported as being completely new and fresh off the tour bus. There was a brief disruption to the song, which is when a lot of the descriptions of issues were laid out to us before resuming.

In short, when they were on, they were really on tonight and it seems like the whole band particularly had a blast with the new material when it popped up. It was nice to see the crowd so receptive, patient, and encouraging throughout what I can assume was not the most comfortable performance for Adrianne.

Seeing them tonight in Miami. Seems no one has reported what Buck Meek’s set is comprised of. Anyone who’s seen them on this run - is it primarily new stuff from him?

Said new song. (edit- called "C U More" on the setlist)

Hopefully she recovers soon. In the meantime, if they continue sitting then I'm guessing they'll probably continue to debut more new songs or dig up rare ones.

He posted a setlist in his instagram story last night if you want to check that. Sounds like it's been mostly new stuff plus a few old ones. Sam Bridges (sometimes with Adrianne), Candle, Second Sight, Cannonball pt2

I noticed a lot of the same things when I saw them in Detroit last year. Seated set, lots of sound issues (it always sounded phenomenal from my POV), Adrianne seemed a little uncomfortable at times. It was still an excellent show, but I couldn't help but feel a little bad for her.

I just hope the warm reception she got, despite all the initial troubles, helped her to not let her mind linger on it too much. There was so much good about the show to vastly outweigh the roughly 10-15 minutes of difficulties.

Similar experience in Nashville. On multiple songs they just stopped abruptly mid song and restarted. Also there was non stop back and forth with the sound guy. She also kept abandoning the set list they created which seemed to keep catching the rest of the band kind of off guard. It was still a good show, but a bit of a mess at times.

I didn't know Buck was doing a solo set as an opener, that's great. Seeing them first time next week in NYC, super excited

Sucks that Adrianne’s been struggling. Hope she gets back to 100% and takes some time off the road if that’s what she needs

Couple new shows added for their summer run

07/29 Omaha, NE - Maha Festival
08/08 Berkeley, CA - The Greek Theatre (with Lucinda Williams)
08/09 Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Forever Cemetery (with Bill Callahan)

Looks like Adrianne was standing at the latest show so hopefully no more back issues

They’re also going to be headlining Pitchfork festival in July in Chicago but it has not been announced yet.

Did not know that! Kinda surprised they'd be a headliner but can't wait to watch a longer livestream. Here's the rumored schedule for those that don't want to search - reddit

Is Pitchfork one of those deals where they can't announce other nearby shows until after the festival is announced? So probably additional dates will pop up in this gap? Nick Hakim is opening all of these shows, would be weird for him to join back up just for those last two dates

07/17 Burlington, VT - Lawn at Shelburne Museum
07/18 Northampton, MA - The Pines Theater
07/19 Kingston, NY - Ulster Performing Arts Center
    ...
    07/22 Chicago, IL - Pitchfork
    ...
07/26 Indianapolis, IN - Egyptian Room
07/27 Madison, WI - The Sylvee

If they could hit up St Louis around Pitchfork like 2021 I sure would appreciate it

The Smile, Alvvays, Perfume Genius, Youth Lagoon and Grace Ives. I might be there Friday.

Saturday and Sunday also insane. Wow.

I went 2 years ago (Big Thief was 2nd headliner behind Phoebe Bridgers) and it was honestly the best festival experience I’ve had in ages. It’s so compact and accessible, moderate crowd who is engaged. Good food and drink options and honestly just still the only Festival that seems interested in curating a great lineup top to bottom every single day.

I saw all four of them last year and they all were amazing. I’m definitely gonna try and go Friday and Saturday (and maybe Sunday cause Florist, Soul Glo, Illuminati Hotties, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Peggy, and Kelela are playing)

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I was at that show and it's an absolute travesty they cut Mary as the encore. was honestly whelmed by most of the show but Mary was unbelievably beautiful
