I'm very sad for this season

 

Yeah fuck this

 

The season has been pretty decent imo. It’s gotten a little boring at this point but I’m interested to see how the last few weeks play out between the cookout/most of the cookout and 1-2 others

 

I really thought they were going to implode because of tiff.

 

It's not the most exciting season by any means, but I can't help but be impressed with how the Cookout is running through this game (mostly) undetected. Like the only two ways one of them doesn't win at this point is if they start turning on each other too soon, or if the other houseguests get wind of the alliance and then team up to work against them. The chances of that second scenario playing out are running thin now. This was the perfect week to even out the numbers if they had any idea. Instead a non Cookout member as HOH wound up with two other non cookout members on the block, and was thrilled about it! Can't wait to see some of the reactions from the other HGs when the Cookout is revealed to them.

 

I think they’ll ride it out together to the final six, the only derailing factor being if they don’t win that final HOH at seven remaining.

 

That being said, if one of these people can skate by and start sneaking their muse from outside of the alliance with them, it could be huge for them

it’s really unlikely, but imagine you’re Tiffany and you have the choice of sitting next to Xavier or Claire in the final two. You’d 100% rather be sitting next to Claire because it’s an auto-win. If you’re next to another cookout member, then you actually have to be compared by merit

 

If she doesn’t fuck it up, she’d be the one to start trimming the snake at her own discretion for sure

 

I'm checked out of this season until final 6 at this point, rumor is there will be a triple eviction from F7-6-5 so I'll hop back in then. Cookout is playing a great game but it's not entertaining to watch by any means

production obviously tried to stop it from happening by starting as teams, but this season has the same issue the last.... 5? 6? have had... one major alliance runs the house and makes it a little boring to watch when they stay true to themselves

it's a boring strategy to watch, but it works. that's the problem.

 

I thought Tiff was maybe going to blow up the alliance last night when she said she needed to figure out a way to keep Claire and DX in the game.

Very interested to see how play goes once it gets down to the final 6 or so.

 

Yeah J thought the team twist was a good idea. Something to see if it could prevent super alliance from forming without radically changing the game.

that said, is kind of hilarious this twist got blown up due to them finally not casting a super majority of white people. I’ve honestly found the race dynamic to be really fascinating. An unprecedented amount of black people gives this season no other season to call back to. Maybe in future seasons, people will be weary of all POC working together. It makes me wonder if someone is actually suspicious of the cookout alliance, but doesn’t want to say it out loud.

on the other side, nobody wants to be the first person to turn their back on the cookout. Even if it hasn’t led to the most competitive season, I think their cause and gameplay have been really admirable and really smart. I just hope it doesn’t give CBS a reason to get a less diverse cast next time

 

@Owlex a few episodes ago DX and Claire literally named the entirety of the cookout as an alliance, so it was in their heads at one point but they didn't address it since then

 

Also, there's no way the next season will be "less diverse" because all of CBS reality shows are commited to at least 50% POC casting from here on out

 

I think they need to be more diverse with the diversity if that makes any sense. Of all 16 contestants DX is the only person to not have at least one white or black parent. They went near all in on one race for POC. Have a cast as diverse as Survivor Cook Islands without the race-based teams and you've got a balanced season

 

Oh my God Xavier is the fucking best, that was amazing hahahahaha

That little thing at the end where she "made herself laugh" made me want to look away from the screen lol


But damn I really got excited for a second that DX might actually be saved when he started getting some votes to save him. I knew it was over when Tiffany seemingly changed her mind though. Was Kyland just a rogue vote? I'm assuming Hannah was a pity vote

 

I love/hate how any time someone mentions something remotely religious, Julie HAS to double down. "The power of prayer does work"

 

Was honestly hilarious how visibly shook she was when Derek X said “expect the unexpected” to her

 

Wish my guy was still in the game but I’d be shocked if he didn’t win AFP so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
