Ha! Which one are you thinking of going for? I think I’d probably just about lean towards Blackened Sky.
Im glad these are actually full album shows. Im sure many years they album celebration shows at the barras which kinda turned out to be picks of the albums rather than the full thing. I'd pay a fortune to see a puzzle album show. I love biffy and i love the barras. Just not sure as a couple we could justify probably close to £400 on 3 shows. Admitedly, i have no doubt Biffy will play a decent set length each night. I'll probably try for one night like @Thrillcollinz. Blackened Sky looking like the one.
Blackened Sky will be so good. Stress on the Sky and Convex Concave will sound titanic live, but my friends I'm going with are leaning more towards IL/VoB so it may be one of those two. I'll be particularly gutted to miss out on Blackened Sky if they dip into the b-sides because some of those songs are incredible.
Blackened Sky tickets purchased :D, got my brother in law VOB tickets. Tempted to get infinity land, but looks like presale has sold out. So probably saved me from my own financial downfall.
Nice! Enjoy! I got pulled into a last minute meeting so missed the presale . I'm going to try o2 priority tomorrow and try and get whatever date is available. Bloody work!
Not me, looking at my $27 ticket stub from their 250 cap show in Minnesota 7 years ago and feeling like I stole something from the rest of the globe
I had a similar experience here in MN back in 2010 when they opened for Manchester Orchestra at the Varsity Theater when Only Revolutions and Mean Everything to Nothing had come out.
Got tix to the Infinity Land show! Can't wait to lay down some questionable shapes and moves to Some Kind of Wizard
Went to this on Tuesday night and it was such a good time. They played two sets - IL front to back and then a collection of what seemed like totally random songs of IL b-sides and then less played later period songs including a bunch from Opposites (which I love dearly). It absolutely ruled, and am very jealous of not going to the other two nights.
All I want from this band is to hear Little Hospitals into The Thaw before I die. That record came at a very pivotal point in my life, and I played those songs to death.
New song June 11th. Played two new songs at a secret gig in Glasgow last night, “A Little Love” and “A Thousand and One”.
Love being a U.S. fan of this band. I get to see them in tiny clubs vs the arenas/stadiums they play in the UK/Europe.
Very jealous of that. Smallest venue I’ve seen them in, in the past 15 years, was their album shows in the Barrowlands, playing Puzzle and Blackened Sky in 2013. I’ll always be surprised they haven’t broke America but headline festivals in the UK/Europe and have done consistently for over a decade. Last night’s gig I think was a 500 cap room. Their home city and where I was born so I was feverishly refreshing for tickets with no luck!
Damn both of those sound great! ‘A Little Love’ has a female behind the drums playing violin. Another girl(I think) to the left of her but can’t tell what she’s playing.
Found out one of the photographers at work ( I work in journalism) has a brother who plays in Simon's side project.
I know it’s not math rock, weird tempo, key signature you’ve never heard Biffy, but MAN, they can write a catchy little pop song chorus. Pair that with the bridge and the aligned rhythm and guitar combo, it sounds like ultimate air guitar music. And I mean that as a big compliment. Simplicity isn’t always easy.
