Album rules. Not as immediate to me as Celebration of Endings, but the highs on here are really high.
Oh man, I haven't listened to Biffy in years but I saw them pop up all over people's EOTY list and jumped back in. This albums absolutely kills. Slurpy Slurpy Sleep Sleep is the kind of brilliance only this band can pull off.
Denier’s riff is what I imagine punching someone in the face to. Over and over and over and over. I like this more than Celebration and I loved that record. But this is an astounding album.
Celebration was the better of the two. End Of, Weird Lesuire and Cop Syrup are better than every song on TMOHEA, in my humble opinion.
It’s weird, I’ve always felt like Blackened Sky would fit better if it was the third album. Puzzle would make the perfect follow up to it.
in this hypothetical scenario that would mean they debut with Vertigo of Bliss and I like that a lot.
Seeing this band on Sun, a real treat for us in the States to see them in clubs given they can headline arenas/festivals in UK/Europe.
Can confirm they rip live. Gave Opposites another listen the other day, rare I enjoy double albums but that one is very good. Opening three songs are incredible.
Not a proper double album but the 2020 and 2021 definitely feel thematically similar. Listened to both today and thoroughly enjoyed.
How’d this show go for you? Here in AUS they’ve graduated from clubs to theatres/middle sized venues which is still amusing to me... those club gigs were earthshattering. Think last one they did in a small venue here was early Opposites-era. Opened with Different People and even dropped Woo Woo which was huge!
Check Out Footage of Empire State Bastard's First Live Show This is neat. Simon is in a new heavy band.
Would love to see them play those songs again, but those dates don't work for me sadly. Feel like it's likely to be the last time some of these songs are ever played, so gutted that I won't be able to make it.
Sorry mate, that's rough. I'm trying to save for a wedding so can only justify getting tix for one date, and it feels like Sophie's Choice lol.
