I had cancelled my limited pressing preorder (yea I know), in an attempt to save some money. So I just bought it on CD so I could get a copy of this in its original form.
As bad I want the vinyl (and had it purchased even at one point), this feels like a record made for CD. It’s 62 mins (terrible vinyl length). The transitions. Idk, I’ll probably still cave and buy it again because I love it.
yea I guess 62 mins isnt the worst offender. Angel Olsen’s Big Time is 47 mins on 2 LP, not ideal. Which is why I also bought it on cassette.
It took a few listens to come to this conclusion, but while I like the whole album, it is the back half that really does it for me. Especially Heated, All Up In Your Mind, America Has a Problem, and the closer.
I can't get enough of this album. I can't explain but this feels like both her most accessible and experimental work. It's so easy to listen to while having some stuff I wasn't expecting her to put her spin on. It fascinates me.
