I grew up on Alaska, but I think Colors, Parallax II and Automata I/II are my top 3. I really feel like Automata smoothed out the kinks of Coma Ecliptic and incorporated the old school metalcore in a way they haven't up to this point.
Well said. I definitely feel Automata as a whole is a pretty good amalgamation of their entire discography.
I’m comfortable in saying Colors, Parallax II and Automata I and II are easily my favorite things this band has done. The Proverbial Bellow is just amazing
Listening for the first time. Voice of Trespass is so hokey and exactly what I've hated about their more recent releases.
They’re playing NH at a shitty biker bar in a beach town that will be pretty much deserted, I can’t wait.
must be going the wrong way here but i really liked the 1-2 of "Glide" and "Voice of Trespass" and the other two songs were okay, though i didn't like the first Automata at all. i'm totally new to this band, so do they have anything that resembles those two songs or that isn't as meandering as the rest of this "era"?
New album, Colors II, is coming out August 20. No idea what a sequel to Colors even is, but Im on board. New song, Fix the Error playing on Sirius XM all day and should be released soon.
It was good. Opened with a nice 70’s style harpsichord ala the Zombies and then just blazed from that point on. Haven’t heard Thomas this fired up in a while. The drum solo was on point.
