The venue is super close to Pike Place Market, so there are lots of good options. Pink Door is a Seattle classic. Or Radiator Whiskey or Japonessa are both very good. It's close to my office, so I mostly know the cheaper/faster stuff, but there's lots to check out!

I am all about the cheap faster stuff! Im excited cause last time I went I hung around the suburbs more and didn't get to go into Seattle itself much

I haven't tried it yet (I keep meaning to), but I've heard wonderful things about La Vaca, which is a little burrito stand right by the market. It's super cheap and my coworkers all rave about it. If the weather's nice, could be good to grab food there and sit out on the new deck behind the market overlooking the bay.

Omg the pnw meetup would be real haha! I feel like this was talked about it in random thread once!

Im still deciding which friend I even want to take with me lol! I feel mean but I can't decide. None of my friends care about the band. so whichever friend I'll bring it'll be because of their company. Weighing the pros and cons and cannot decide lol. Last friend I invited to a show didn't help pay for the hotel or tickets. But my other friend left me to go get high with strangers... And also didn't help pay for the hotel or tickets. SMH. I need to get better friends but in the meantime I gotta make a choice!

Still overthinking who I will take to the show. I haven't told anyone irl I got tickets because idk who to bring! I wish it was in PDX so I could feel comfortable going alone. I'm weighing the odds of which friend would actually help with the expenses vs whose company I want vs who would actually appreciate the music. I need an irl music buddy cause I'm forever dragging ppl to shows where it means way more to me than to them and then I get all bummed they're not as excited as me + I end up paying for it all. I need a reality show where I find my concert buddy.

Man I relate to this so much. I wish I could offer you advice, but I literally have all the exact same problems. I feel like people are always like "just go alone what's the big deal" which I'm fine with for local shows but when you have to travel it's a bummer. I made the Portland to Seattle and back drive alone for a show once and it was exhausting.

I was in this exact boat the past few years and I wasn't going to shows as much. It's hard to feel like you have to buy 2 tickets (not to mention expensive!!) and then drag someone along too who doesn't care as much, or at all. I am lucky cause I made a friend last year with someone I worked with, we are into pretty much the same stuff and I invited her to the Paramore tour last summer and we immediately clicked and now we have our own calendar just for shows lol. Feels nice to have that connection with someone again after not having it since I was a teenager.

I've gone to shows alone, most recently last summer I went several hours early to a show and ended up making friends while I waited on line; but I got lucky with that. It's usually kind of a bummer to go to shows alone.

Best advice I can give is to chat people up at shows and try to meet people in whatever scene that exists in your area. I find it easier when I am with someone else to engage other people cause you can kind of bounce off the other person and feel less awkward, maybe if you have to drag someone take a friend who's sociable. People are usually friendlier than you think they might be and open for conversation, especially when you're there for the same reason!

I've gotten so used to going to shows alone that now it's almost an inconvenience to go with a friend, haha. But traveling to another city to go alone is another story. I did go to Columbus once for a show alone, but I had so many friends living down there I was able to hang out with them before/after the show so I didn't consider it a big deal but that was 8-9 years ago and probably would never do it again.

EDIT: Holy shit are they already sold out again - JK looking at the wrong date. Bigger venue made this way easier.

Ive gone to shows alone in PDX and it's fine. I don't rly make friends but it's ok. I feel more comfortable with PDX tho cause I used to live there and I know the drive well and know ppl who live there or around there. Seattle I've only been to twice and it's like five hours away and I don't feel comfortable doing that alone. I'd probably be fine but since I'm unfamiliar with everything and don't know anyone in the area I'm kinda meh on going alone. But I'm also meh on bringing someone so.... Oop lol
