The Gregaissance post DEP has been amazing. I hope this band continues and grows cause this EP is so sick!!!
Yea this is great as expected. Wish it was a full length but I'll take what I can get. Somewhat tempted to get the wolf shirt in their store.
This is a lot of fun, didn’t love 30 Under 13 at first but Sacrificial Participant and Become So Small rip. The chorus vocals on the former remind me a bit of Brent from Mastodon. Excited to listen in the car later.
Also on the subject of Greg's lyricism, Keith might be my favorite lyricist of all time so I'm not even gonna try to compare/contrast lyricism between the two bands but Greg has shown through DEP to have some choice aces up his sleeve lyrically, especially on their last album.
Just played through. I am digging it. When they featured Josh Scogin on the last record it got my hopes way up. Can’t help but wonder how rad it would have been to hear him in these songs. I like the melodic parts throughout and the straight forward punk drums are really working for me. I think it is about as good as it could be with Andy and Keith not in the mix. I am sure they will absolutely crush live.
Very good but not ETID. Super excited to catch the show in Buffalo. Is Keith even working in any music projects?
I dig it, but yeah it's not scratching the ETID itch I was hoping it would Don't love the vocals, but maybe they'll grow on me
Greg sounds manic here, I love it. The melodic bits work well. There's definitely parts that remind me of ETID for sure, but I think Putney is putting his own mark on this with some of the leads though.
I am so glad Greg sings here. I know DEP is who they are because of the chaos, but their more melodic stuff really stuck with me over the years.
The chorus of Black Bubblegum just invades my head and refuses to leave pretty frequently. I can't even remember the last time I listened to it.
My favorite is 43% Burnt. For life. Haha (I know it's Dimitri on vox; but still...) that song live.... Is a revelation.
