It's not the same show as BB IMO.I think the quality is on the same level, but I definitely think BB had more mass appeal due to it being a more exciting and focused show. It's only been the last few seasons that the stakes have risen with the cartel involvement. BCS has certainly meandered it's way to it's conclusion and you can definitely tell it was written a lot more on the fly, and the creators have even admitted to not having a hard roadmap, and that they planned to move the plot much faster but they just kept finding avenues to explore for longer than they originally anticipated. It also doesn't help that the seasons take so long to hit netflix, and that we've got further and further away from cable television. I'll admit watching it with commercials is brutal and I don't recall really having an issue with watching BB live. In short, it's an artsy show that has taken it's time and I'm not surprised it's not for everyone. And think of all the holy shit endings to BB episodes... There are a dozen or more episodes that just have jaw dropping last 5 minutes and BCS has had a handful only. Off the top of my head, I can really only think of this last one and Lalo's other visit to their apartment. EDIT: My prediction for the high end is that the final will top 3 million viewers but even that's a stretch. Looking at wiki, it's crazy how fast viewers dropped off before levelling out. There's not been 2 million views since season 2. Either way - viewer figures be damned, at this point it's getting it's proper conclusion and I have loved the ride.
But yeah, this is a more calculated and slower paced show, which we have established on here before. BB is way more accessible.
I know this isn't a new take or prediction but I really feel like this ends with Gene ending his own life or at least being killed by someone else.
I didn't watch BB til the whole thing was on Netflix and I binged it in a week. I wish I watched it live cause I am positive I'm more connected with this show watching it this way. If people in general don't like the slower pace that's fine, but "brutal" is ridiculous.
I feel like BCS has been a more rewarding watch over the course of the series. I was almost out after the first season but kept up with it.
I feel like there's always a long layover between BCS seasons. I know covid and Bob's heart attack are the reasons for the delay of this one, but even before that it felt like well over a year wait between seasons. I could be wrong.
Now question for the thread Do we want the series to end right into BB or have it’s own ending that is somewhat separate from BB?
I want them to say fuck it and kill Saul a the end of the series, biggest surprise ending in the history of tv
It'll definitely end with Gene Being that they announced Walt and Jesse appearing already, I wonder if they're gonna simply kinda reshoot the Saul "kidnapping" for this show Just a probably wrong guess lol
Someone remind me of how BB actually begins, aside from the flashback to Walt in his underwear in the desert
Hank offers to take Walt on a ride along, they bust a meth house where Jesse escapes, Walt says hey let's cook meth lol
I thought we already saw Jesse again, but then realized that happened in a dream I had after watching the most recent episode
I just mean the commercials and how annoying they are, and how little i watch TV and how unused to commercials i am. I enjoy the wait between episodes and speculating and the community, i just hate cable.
I think the question was specially will the show end with what happens in BB season 2, episode 8 or will it end separately.
Quick reminder that Saul isn't a character in Season 1 of Breaking Bad, so there is an entire season of Breaking Bad that in theory can happen concurrently with the rest of Better Call Saul
