What was convoluted? These two episodes were literally just following up on the events that led directly from last season. The failed assassination attempt, Nacho escaping , and Kim setting her eyes on Howard/Sandpiper all happened in the last episode of s5
The episodes were fantastic, but I was also struggling to make complete sense of Gus Fring's plan regarding Nacho. I think the only thing that really makes sense is that they were banking on Nacho being killed in a shoot out and/or being scrappy enough to escape. But as it's been pointed out, that is a little sloppy on Fring's part because he's aware that they're going to try bringing him in alive at all costs. And both sides of the feud have the knowledge and ability to use Nacho's father as leverage against him, so I also don't think that's a very great contingency plan for Gus to keep him from speaking. I also don't yet understand how they are openly communicating with Nacho if he's been grabbed by the cousins, but maybe he hasn't actually been captured yet. I don't know, every time I think I've made sense of it, I end up asking more questions. I think maybe it's more just an oversight from Gus (which doesn't totally align with his character) since he's panicking in the latest episode and even knocks over the glass.
That would make sense even though we didn't really see it. I assumed something like that would had to have happened.
Maybe I need to rewatch but I thought it was pretty clear Nacho got away. The truck was blocking his way, he crashed into it to force it aside and give him room to escape
He did, but it was still pretty improbable that he would walk away from that crash uninjured enough to make a break for it on foot (considering he was like 40 ft from the cousins and had no obvious route of escaping). Not to mention the truck would have been quite smashed up (plus the tires had already been shot out) if he had planned on driving away. He confirms in the phone call to Mike shortly after that he made it out, but I didn't really think it was "clear" before that what had happened and thought it was more of a cliffhanger.
Yeah they don't actually show him getting away, we just see the crash. I assumed that he had been captured until later on when he calls and says he got away.
I don't get how Lalo didn't die, but he was assumed dead, what did I miss about him escaping and fake dying
The bearded man he visited was the body, they mentioned that he had set him up with his dentist and then made him shave his beard into Lalos likeness
