just finished rewatching s4. still don't understand the backlash from when Lalo was introduced, he's so obviously a fantastic character from the jump also Bob's delivery of that last "it's all good man" should be preserved for eternity on a voyager spacecraft or something
That's the first I've heard of a Lalo backlash. I agree - he was immediately one of the best characters.
I guess people were expecting another brooding, silent but deadly Salamanca and were thrown off by this talkative goofball which of course is the point. when Tony Dalton lets that mask slip and you see how well he uses his persona to throw people off guard... man
Yeah, if I remember correctly people didn’t like Lalo at first because he felt too “cartoonish” or something to that effect. I remember specifically the complaints about him crawling through the ceiling and killing that guy on the other side of the window at the travel agency. I love his performance and find the terror behind his smiling veneer really compelling. I think it was said in the Severance thread and I have to agree, if there were a show about Lalo and Milchick from Severance playing opposite each other it would be the most delightfully uncomfortable watch. Every scene between those two would be an exercise in anxiously awaiting which one is going to snap first.
yeah I don't really need that but I trust this creative team to do it well at least. I care so much more about Kim and Jimmy than I ever did about Walt lol
Currently on S3 for my rewatch before next week and man, when Jimmy bamboozles Chuck in the state bar hearing with the battery, that's good stuff.
that was a huge spoiler for a lot of people, including me. I opened Instagram and it was the first post :(
yeah i mean its not like a set photo was leaked, this was intentional, so i don't think the spoiler rules apply.
