That video at the top of this page has me so excited for this season. It's gonna be a memorable one. I am shocked by the amount of people I know IRL that LOVE BB and just 'haven't gotten around' to watching BCS. It's a very large group of people i'm talking about here
Ah, I think I must have been reading a different article then, but I do know the character spoilers you're talking about after stumbling by it accidentally elsewhere. Seems weird to reveal that publicly after keeping El Camino cameos under lock and key
Seriously, I’ve only recently realized that this is the case for a ton of people. Like I’ve been in at least three different settings this week alone where I’ve brought up Better Call Saul and been told this exact same thing. I don’t get it.
I always get the same answer of, "I started a few episodes but couldn't get into it". Which I get, aside from the second episode in S1, which is fucking BRUTAL. It does start off slow but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a perfect show IMO.
I have a friend who loves Better Call Saul, but refuses to watch Breaking Bad. It's too dark for her, I think she quit on BB in season 1 when they dissolved the guy in acid. When is last season of BCS going to reair on AMC, or be available streaming? I need to get caught up. I have every episode on my DVR, except episode 1. I just need that one.
I wonder if it's partly because Breaking Bad got so hyped up towards the end, with all these intense, classic scenes and episodes, that people forget how much slow build there was. Like they think that every two or three episodes was a Face Off or Ozymandias. So they remember these moments in the last couple of Breaking Bad seasons and then they go and watch Better Call Saul and think it's too slow.
Honestly I don’t think it starts slow at all, I think it starts perfectly and proceeds perfectly, so I’m always confused when people say they couldn’t get into it.
Yeah I gave up on the show right before they gave Mike's backstory episode in S1, which is a bummer looking back on it because I think it's the best episode of the show hah
I always wonder how many people watch BCS without having watched BB. I guess it's a strong enough show that knowledge of BB wouldn't be essential but it's certainly unusual. I don't think it starts as slow as people say either. I actually think the first season is significantly stronger than Breaking Bad's first season (which I still really like).
That was because of the writers strike, I think. I'm pretty sure the first or second episode of the next season was meant to be the finale.
Oh yeah, has to be. Love all the casualties of that writers strike, it's fascinating in hindsight haha.
I was just randomly watching an episode from S4 of The Office the other day and thinking about the impact of the strike on that season. Amazing how many big shows were affected.
Hah wow, I somehow never noticed the 42 minute episodes either now that I scroll through it. I just let Netflix autoplay and don't pay attention to the time lol
