I don't think it's that far fetched. We aren't necessarily done with Jeff and Marion, I wouldn't be surprised if we weren't, but it's enough to reasonably put an end to that loose end. Obviously "Gene" wouldn't trust anybody, but this guy comes off as more of a fan of Saul, so maybe the thrill of pulling off a scam with Saul is enough, plus Saul coming out and threatening all this legal stuff (and it's not unreasonable to think he's capable of worse being that this is the lawyer involved with two pretty ruthless people in Walt and Gus), plus he's taking care of his elderly mother so maybe Saul doesn't think he'll be much of a threat? It make more sense to just off the cab driver or something? Probably but this was more entertaining in my opinion. And again, maybe giving in to his Saul tendencies bites him. But if it doesn't, I was plenty satisfied if this part tied up like this.
I don't want to be too disparaging because I love this show, but I also get the impression that Peter Gould and his team know that they are in a unique position that they'll never be in again, so they are doing a lot of things simply because they can. There probably is a reason for the episode placement beyond just this, but I am sure they just thought it'd be fun to subvert expectations and do a disconnected black and white con in the middle of the march to the end, and AMC won't tell them no so just went with it. It's mostly what makes it great, but this show has an abundance of 'artistic' flourishes that would be shut down elsewhere. Even though I rank this show up with the greats, some of the pacing and the meandering montages has gotten on my nerves. I'll wait to see if episode ends up being annoying or not. It just needs context (or not, as that would solve my opinion on it too).
Where was this confirmed because anyone who has looked up the cast listing knows that those aren't accurate based on what episode we actually got for 10.
I wish it was just Gene-centered for the last 3 episodes, but with Walt/Jesse making appearances, we know we're getting at least some BB-era action
No way! Love her, think theres a decent chance we see her in the Gene era. I think its a bold move and like the idea of that flash forward to Saul being the only glimpse of actual Saul that we get in the series.
This is why I was surprised by Carol, cause I accidentally read a supposed spoiler that Walt and Jesse were in this one lol
I'm not going to try and predict what the show is doing next, I trust whatever they do will be cool. Maybe we'll flash forward to Gene on the moon, if they do it right then I'm in!
I'm just fucking for you for very much not liking her on the first page of this thread lol. I just found this thread and read back. Glad to see it's all turned around!
Maybe the whole walt/jesse making an appearance is one big throw off. I'd respect them for that. I honestly don't have much desire to see them.
They've certainly been throwing people off, but flat out not having them would be a pretty shitty move by AMC to blatantly say they were coming back and having them mention it on talk shows just to get more viewers (when it probably should have been kept under wraps) for it to just be one big gag to pump numbers.
My biggest concern during the entire mall ransacking was that Jeffy was cutting those security tags with no worry about picking them up! There's broken security tags all over the floor!!
Him falling and laying on the ground like a dead fish on the surveillance camera was prob the funniest moment in all of BCS.
I'll spoiler this, but it's amazing how much people can sleuth out. This is a theory I read on the reddit forum that I hope comes true (and after a lot of thought, I believe it's highly probable). I'd say it's a 'minor' spoiler if anyone is curious. In a BCS episode in season 4, Francesca and Saul are cleaning out his office (post BB) and he asks that Francesca be available to take a phone call at 3pm on November 12th. The leading theory on that is that we find out Kim calls Jimmy once a year on his Birthday (which has been established on that date) to check in and other than that, they make no contact. He was making sure Francesca could take that and relay a message that he was skipping town and going into hiding. Again spoilered in case people didn't or don't watch the next episode preview there's more black and white footage, but who knows if it's a continuation of this episode or not. I am trying to figure out if if features audio Saul has already said as it sounds like he's begging to Kim about forgetting, but I just watched the end of E9 again and I don't think he's said those words so maybe there's at least one more conversation between them but before or after he leaves in BB?
No way the show would end this simply, but my only suspicion for how it would play out is that he reunites with Kim (who is from some places near Omaha) and she is the one to put him away for good... She wants to atone for all of her own misdeeds but also.... she's the only one crafty/smart enough to beat Jimmy at his own game. Sets up a Walt vs. Jesse sort of scenario. Maybe Jeff gets greedy and gets into a legal battle with Jimmy and needs help. ha.
