I remember All My Life being such a "wow, where did this come from" hit when it came out. I'm pulling for that one.

 

Seriously though for people who haven't checked them out, The "million dollar demos" are on Youtube. In particular Have It All, Come Back, and Lonely As You are worth listening to. The demo version of Lonely As You is heavier and angrier and it makes me sad that it didn't stay that way on the album.

I agree that Foo Fighters always have very strong singles. For most bands or artists, I do not think their singles are their best songs, but Foo Fighters always seem to, imo, release their strongest songs as singles. Kind of a gift and a curse because then I dig into the albums and don't find anything better. For a band that I've liked and listened to for the past 25 years, they have a LOT of songs that I'm extremely indifferent on or never go back to but their singles have always stood the test of time.

I've enjoyed revisiting this album the past few days!

Excited for what's next. I know people hold their first albums in high regard, but In Your Honor-Echoes-Wasted Light are peak FFs for me, WL being their career hightlight. Can't wait to get to those.

 

I do think Wasting Light is one of their best, but the rest are very hit or miss. Honor and Echoes has some of their best songs buried amongst some of their worst.

 

Wasting Light is definitely my favorite Foo album.

 

I always felt the In Your Honor rock cd was super solid. The acoustic one I rarely revisit though

Echoes is definitely hit or miss for me.

Wasting Light Is fantastic. Along with TINLTL and TCATS it rounds out my top 3 foo albums.

I think In Your Honor is pretty uneven, but I love Echoes and Wasting Light front to back.

As for the next three album run, this is where I discovered these guys. Don’t get me wrong, I knew the hits. My Hero, Times Like These, Learn to Fly, etc. But the release of In Your Honor was the first album cycle for me. IYH, ESP&G and Wasting Light almost feel like the beginning of the bands career to me. Which is ridiculous I know
