I am going to a week long marketing conference in San Francisco in a few weeks and I am looking for a new backpack to carry with me as I will be walking a lot. I am currently using this backpack for work and while I think it's a great pack, it's a little bulky and heavy for walking around for 6-9 hours a day. I am looking for a durable backpack with lots of compartments, a sternum strap, a side pouch for a water bottle, and be able to fit a 15 inch laptop. Here is what I have been considering so far: Timbuk2 Showdown Ogio Renegade Tumbuk2 Q Honestly, if SwissGear would just add sternum straps to their packs, I would have a few of those on my list too! Any recommendations?
I travel for my job and this backpack is just perfect for me. I love it and it meets all your criteria. Only thing is that if what you posted is too big/bulky, not sure how much better this would be. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007B5POVC/?tag=absolutepunk-20
Not sure if you ever picked out a bag yet. It I recommend GoRuck bags to anyone that is in need of a new bag. They are high quality and pretty sturdy. Basically made to take a beating. They don't have a sternum strap or water pouch included. It it has a subtle amount of molle webbing so its very modular in what you want on it. Rucksacks - GORUCK
