just bought it, I never really buy albums anymore but considering they are independent now I had to buy.
Almost done my first listen, going to be more of a grower than a shower for me. I'm a huge fan of this band and am fully on board for this type of sound but it didn't drag me in as much as previous releases. Almost felt like a giant interlude with 4-5 songs trickled in.
Yeah there are points that it feels like that. The Powers That Be needs to be reversed... hoping that song comes out on the ep in the correct order.
This album is an experience. The 7 full songs are great on their own, but it's best when heard from front to back with the instrumentals setting the tone for the next track. I love the sound they have created here. A few songs elicit such a feeling of dread (Thorns in particular). I was never a fan of this band, but this record is something special. The artwork is also pretty dope.
Finally giving this some serious listening... really impressed. This is a very good direction for them.
love how much all of their solo stuff shines through on here. and lots of moments that make me miss The Elijah.
Just got my vinyl in the mail from Impericon. For the vinyl they removed the interludes between Glow, OK, and Dissolve and the backwards song.
