What a wild movie lol. Enjoyed it quite a bit but I would understand anyone hating it.

 

Was that actually Bill hader?? I looked for him in the credits and didn't see him

 

Yeah here's an article mentioning it, but it also spoils a pretty neat cameo in the show that the person we are talking about is on

 

The more I think about this, the more I not only want to see it again in theaters but think I loved it. So perversely funny

Another nightmare masterpiece from Aster. Had one walk out, which I don’t get with how long they lasted, but their loss. Kind of scary how much I could relate to some of this. So in love with his atmosphere, lighting, camera work, editing, etc.

 

Also, this officially ends the sex scene discourse.

I think I need to see this again. But i think i loved it. Unsure of that last scene tho. Maybe it's a masterpiece. Maybe my brain is completely broken. I would recommend this to literally zero normal moviegoers.

I think I loved this? I truly don’t know. I feel like I just tripped on shrooms or something. Also someone brought a fucking 6 year old to this. They should be put in jail.

I watched a couple actively regret bringing their very young child to Evil Dead Rise over the span of 95 increasingly gory minutes. The kid was literally like "Why would you bring me to this" at the end

 

I was bored a lot of the time tbh. But when I wasn’t, I was enjoying it thoroughly

I can’t wait to rewatch this in chunks when it’s streaming. No way I can rewatch it in theaters though.

I will certainly be watching this again at home when it hits streaming and clarify if it’s indeed a masterpiece or not but it is something special.

Nightmare comedy is the best way to describe this. It feels like a series of nightmares that you can’t wake up from, going deeper and deeper into the darkest corners of your psyche as the night goes on. Recreates the feeling of having the absolute worst paranoid thoughts an anxious mind can have in any given scenario, and then punishes Beau with those exact absurd thoughts happening in front of him.

People seem to be worried about Ari Aster but idk this might be the best kind of therapy to address all the worst feelings you have ever had through your art

 

I cannot wait to watch this. That description sounds like such a wild experience.

 

Also this movie is pretty meta. Ari seems to be making fun of himself and his past 2 movies in a lot of ways

 

Seeing this tonight!

 

It’s definitely special. Can’t recall something that made laugh out loud but also uncomfortable at the same time and that happened a lot over the three hour run time
