Is there any resemblance to his other films? I love Hereditary and Midsommar but this sounds very different from them.
Welp, theater finally confirmed that they are showing this, so I will be cutting work early tomorrow to catch this directly before Evil Dead Rise lmao. Will report back. Unfollowing until then. Hope everybody enjoys the experience!
There are some slight resemblances but this is much different than either of those. The more I think about it, I really liked it but I think it kinda falls apart in the 3rd act although it almost feels deliberate by Aster.
It's undoubtedly an Ari Aster movie, it's shot in a very similar way and he does a few of the same tricks but this is a much much more absurd movie and some things that he did in his first two movies to horrify you he does here for laughs.
Will probably wait til it’s on demand because my life is so hectic right now and would much prefer to watch this at home.
My schedule looks kinda bad for seeing this in theaters but I really want to so hopefully we can make it happen I saw Hereditary and Midsommar at home but my wife first watched Hereditary on a plane which is probably the most immersive small screen experience possible
Whoever’s job it is in Ari Aster movies to make the dead bodies look particularly fucked up, great job once again
Holy fuck lolol I didn't think it was particularly unhinged until that third act. People are not gonna like that. Gonna have to chew on the ending a little bit myself, but this was very funny and very fucked up
I saw Midsommar on opening night high as a kite. 10/10 experience. I am beyond excited for this-oh, the two theaters in my town aren't getting this. Not surprised.
