Had a long conversation with a friend this morning about the way they are rolling this out. He feels as if it has lost all hype since we have essentially heard about half of the record already. I get what he's saying but at the same time by pumping out singles, people stay interested. What do you guys think?
Don't specifically remember, but didn't they do this for the first release too? I thought they released a new song every week up until the album release, and by then, there were maybe one or two songs that hadn't been heard, so figured they were just going to roll out with that strategy again.
I can't remember how they rolled out the first album but I think by putting out a single a week or every other week you keeping your audiences attention enough that they don't forget about the release and are more likely to share at least one of those songs with their followers/friends leading up to the album dropping. Not sure if first week sales still matter but I am sure that affects how many people are aware of the album by the time it is released and will stream/buy the entire record once it is out. Even if they have heard a couple songs. That being said I can't wait to hear the whole album in the ordering the songs are meant to be heard.
This is pretty much where I stand on it for now. At some point though I'm like ok enough, I'll just wait a week and listen to the entire thing.
Honestly for me, it used to bother me in the sense that, I wanted to wait and hear the whole thing without hearing maybe only one or two songs before an album release, and if a band I liked continued to release songs, I would just avoid them until the album release. Now for some reason, it doesn't really bother me much at all on a personal level, and I'll just listen to it as the band releases it, haha and if they release the whole album as individual songs before the release, then I'll probably go that route.
I think there's something to be said about hearing the songs in the context of the album. I don't think it's the same for everyone but I generally listen to albums from start to finish. I don't mean to come off as pretentious or anything, I can definitely see how it might sound like that, but I just don't enjoy the songs as much when they are isolated on their own.
I definitely understand, and used to listen to pretty much everything that way when it came to new releases. Not sure what changed over time, but now I can just listen to something as a band releases it, and be perfectly content.
Some bangers in that second half of the album, but the first half kinda falls short. I don't really enjoy how the drums sound on this one.
Just finished listening. Overall it's pretty much what I expected. I'm not blown out of the water but I'm sure it's a record I'll be jamming this summer in the car on road trips. I felt the same way when Disgusting came out and it grew on me more and more over time. What I'm most excited for is to see some new material live.
I think this album gets progressively better as it goes on. I was enjoying the first few tracks, but the album really clicked for me on Fair Weather Friend and just kept impressing me from there on. Is anyone else experiencing the album in a similar way?

New Toof single "Infected" was leaked on the R/ Beartooth Reddit, Beartooth shared the link, but it was subsequently taken down. Im guessing it will officially drop in 5 days with the countdown & pre orders
I definitely think its my personal favorite for sure! Just saw the tour as well this past friday & the songs were explosive live as they always are! Cant wait to see more of the album in the live setting.
