Maybe I'd overplayed the singles but the album didn't work for me anywhere near as well as Below did. This video has me ready to give it another go. Brilliant.
Gave this another go over the weekend. I respect the positivity but it's quite bland and forgettable in comparison with their prior releases. More typical of alternative rock radio stuff for the most part. No particularly memorable riffs in comparison to Below. The first 30 seconds of that album are superior to any moments on this.
They were phenomenal this past Saturday and were the “third to last” band. Summer of Loud was so fun but to me they’re the best band on that bill by a mile.
Yea it definitely feels more manufactured than say, Riptide Though on another note Caleb's killing it with the looks, damn
As much as I like Beartooth and I like Jordan Fish, they are two great tastes that don’t taste great together yet. The song is fine, but it certainly doesn’t hit me the same way Riptide did, or even most of Below and a good chunk of The Surface.
I like it, I'll even bop it, but it's distinction from whats seems like every single song in that genre is 0. You could name 5 bands and tell me it was their new song and I'd buy it.
Moving those hips like Shakira. No snark. Guy has done the fucking work. I am truly jealous. Taking care of your body is a gift and it seems like he does it for performing as much as he does for his own gratification.
Dreadful. For a band that had a bucket load of great guitar parts and choruses up to 2021's Below, I can barely distinguish a guitar riff, chords or melody so ramped up is the compression and other effects. Much of the same issues that ruined the last release for me. Typical of much modern "metalcore" adjacent stuff. 'Attention' salvaged hope for me with the deluxe release but sadly not to be. Sounds like a wall of mostly indeterminate noise.
It’s just paint by numbers Beartooth. It’s fine. Passable, even, but definitely unremarkable. You could slot this song into their last album and I wouldn’t even blink.
i like this song a lot and was actually surprised to find out jordan fish contributed to it, because it sounds nothing like what he's done post bring me
I'm really not feeling this one. I don't mind their poppier side, and it's obviously a personal song lyrics wise, but I'm just not vibing with the style. We will see how it is live but a bit of a miss for me.
To me the hook melody feels pretty reminiscent of some later BMTH stuff like Strangers, might be just me though
