Wow end of August huh New song I think I like more than Free on first listen? Still feels a little more...I'm not sure, maybe overproduced? than their last in a weird way. However on another note I'm still absolutely loving Caleb in these vids, really hope he didn't let Fuckass Fronz from Shittila and whoever else damper his style going forward
Caleb can write a hook. No doubt. I like both songs. I agree the production is somehow a little weird/maybe processed is a better word for it. It just doesn’t feel as “deep” on my speakers, even though it’s loud as hell. Compare that to the new Social Distortion record which gets into your bones with depth and clarity; that’s how I wish this stuff could sound sometimes because again, the hooks the man writes are ENORMOUS. I am excited for it, and doubly excited he doubled down on the look for the record. Fuck the haters.
I loved The Surface, and that single Attention they brought out in between, but these two new songs really aren't doing it for me
I think Free rips. I hope Caleb doesn't change much of what he planned for the record based on what people online have said already. He seems very comfortable as he is.
I can't explain it but the new song feels like it's trying to be dark and heavy like their old stuff but it just sounds a bit awkward, and then the chorus doesn't suit the rest of the song
never really listened to this band but anyone deciding to live as their true self in a country as hostile to LGBTQ+ people as it's ever been deserves respect. coming out in the toxic atmosphere of 2026 is huge. congrats Caleb!
