    what a waste of wood

Will check this out. Really loved (and still love) Islands but wasn't a fan of their last one at all.

  6. Been listening to this almost exclusively lately. Between this and their last album they're quickly becoming one of my favorite current bands.

Never actually heard Islands and I know it's their most popular album so I should probably give that a go sometime soon.

  8. This was one of my least favorite tracks when I first started listening to this album and it's become one of my favorites. This is pretty easily my AOTY at this point, still listening to it almost daily.

it really is a transcendent piece of work. I truthfully like all the songs, the only one that hasn't stuck for me is Fossils. and yes I feel you this is definitely up there for me along with Tyler Lyle'sThe Floating Years and the new Dangerous Summer. whatever my alley is this is right up it

  10. The first three tracks were the most immediate for me. I almost gave up on the album after a few listens because it wasn't hitting me like RE&PR did. I'm so glad I stuck with it because every track has gotten better and better with each listen.

Sometimes after spinning the vinyl I just replay side B (tracks 6-10) once or twice more. What a flawless run of songs.

oh yea side b is the way if it was a gospel. fucking love that run. this one was actually the most immediate for me and the most staying power. the first time I heard it it was feels city

  12. I didn't pay close attention to the lyrics when I first started listening and because of that Breaker/Keeper and Crow were probably my least favorite tracks. Once I looked at the lyrics and some background behind the songs now they just wreck me every time.

For me this and Small Talks' A Conversation Between Us are the two big ones so far this year. I really liked Dangerous Summer too. Maybe I should give that Tyler Lyle record another try. Only listened to that one once.

oh yea the lyrics turn those crushing. and I'd definitely give the Tyler Lyle record another spin. the stories and scenes he word paints might take a bit to sink in. it found me at the right time, but he's also just one of my favorite singer/songwriters at this point. so many all timers on there.

haven't heard the Small Talks record, I'll check it out for sure

  16. One of my favorites of the past few years for sure. Still coming back to it pretty regularly.

  17. Signed up for their mailing list recently and got this excellent bit of marketing in the mail yesterday. Looks like a new album is coming soon and Blue Hours seems like a good bet for the album title. New single "Spiders" out 1/19.

  18. This one was marketed as a standalone single when it was released in November, but it looks like it's on the album.

  22. Just bought tickets to their upcoming tour and now I'm checking out the Within/Without EP for the first time. Got into them with RE&PR and haven't really gone backwards from there. This is so good! Hitting me much more immediately than Islands, which I've listened to a few times recently but still hasn't fully clicked.
