Today, we start recording our second full-length for Polyvinyl Record Company. And that feels wild and perfect. I don't… Posted by Beach Slang on Monday, April 4, 2016 The post Beach Slang Begin Recording appeared first on chorus.fm.
Wow that's fast! I feel like they just released The Things We Do... Can't wait to hear more from this band!
I feel like he had most those songs written for awhile. Also he's older so I think he knows this won't last forever.
Yeah, I listened to his interview with Matt Pryor and had no idea he was pushing 40. Better strike when the iron is hot.
He was in some band that was fairly popular in the scene in the 90s to give you an idea of how long he's been around.
I'm sure you're not the only person who doesn't like his voice. It's one of the main appeals for me. I think their music can sound a little boring on some songs but his voice just makes them great to me
Just threw on 'Throwaways' in the car on the way home from the gym, what a song. Cannot wait to see what they come up with next.
I don't think he has a bad voice but he just does the same thing with it over and over again. It gets old fast. I thought their EPs and that last album was forgettable, but I keep hoping... it's kinda the same reason I don't always get into The Gaslight Anthem or Restorations. Good bands, but barely anything sticks cause the vocals are just this gravely, mid-range, monotony. Not that the voices are bad, it just doesn't feel like they always do all they could with them. At least to my ears.
i'm hype for this. where i agree that a lot of their material falls into similar territory/could get old fast for some listeners, it has a sincerity about it that i really appreciate. unrelated; Beach Slang pulled me up onstage at Riot Fest to cover Korn acapella. i was really drunk in front of hundreds of people. it was a disaster, and one of the best moments of my life.
Part of me would like to see some growth here, but damn if I don't enjoy this band immensely for just doing what they're doing: writing about the love of punk rock.
TTWDTFPLU was almost my AOTY last year. I think after I started ranking it all it ended up 3rd or something. Awesome that they're following it up fast, can't wait.
They've gotten exposure from bigger publications lately so I'm not surprised. It's time for them to get something new out there with pull behind them.
Good band, but I hope there's more variety on this LP. Not very surprised they're recording again already - it makes sense: the first album was very short and written long before it was released & they're looking to capitalize on an absurd amount of good press their debut got. good for them, I will definitely be checking this out whenever it drops.
