Beach House Band

i've been thinking about it, i think beach house has potentially had the best decade of any band in the 10's so far. what other band has put out four very good to excellent LPs in that time span? really hit me that they're one of my favorites now.

 

Teen Dream and Bloom are both masterpieces. They're one of those bands I really need to see live that I havent

 

Love Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars. What order should I be listening to the rest of their catalog?

Go chronologically from Devotion to Bloom. Hearing how they progressed on each one is interesting.

 

tyls felt like an afterthought following depression cherry but really became my fav of the 2.

somewhere tonight is absolutely perfect.

 

i think depression cherry has the higher highs but TYLS is more consistent

 

every album closer they have is immaculate

 

Depression Cherry gets better with every listen. It'll probably make my redone top 10 of 2015 easily

 

I've given Cherry more listens than TYLS, so I'd have to rate it higher at this point, but I want to dig into TYLS more this week.

 

I'd probably go Bloom > Teen Dream > TYLS > Depression Cherry

Teen Dream is my fravorite

 

all their records are super slow burners for me...all sticks so much more than i realize

 

special special band for sure

 

can't wait to see them this weekend!!

 

they're ok live - nothing amazing, but ok

 

I haven't actually listened to Devotion or S/T, and nothing has stuck with me much outside of Depression Cherry. Hmm... looks like I have more exploring of the discography to do.

Starting to wonder if they're trying to fulfill their Sub Pop contract so they can jump to a major label with everything they've released in the past two years.
