Considering they almost filled Thalia Hall in October the price on the secondary market is totally understandable. I'm surprised Pitchfork didn't get them. I can't see Lolla having them back two years in a row (but that's not entirely unheard of for an up-and-coming act like them) so maybe they're playing Riot Fest or are going to do another headlining tour over the summer or fall.
It was snowing and quite shitty out that day (from my memory) so I imagine that’s why it wasn’t completely full, but it sure seemed sold out on the floor.
I hope they continue to play smaller shows in Chicago after this. Seeing them at the Metro (and Thalia) is cool but the smaller shows are so fun. The show at Sleeping Village last week was great.
Left after Six Weeks as the three jabrones in the entire venue that were old enough to drink were continuously bumping into me in the back for the second half of the album play. But what an album play it was
The show was super fun. I love that there are pits at their shows. I wonder where they will play next (venue wise)? Maybe The Riv at this point?
whoa, when did Beach Bunny get so popular? i saw them open for PUP last year and didn't realize they were so huge!
This is basically our generation’s Smashing Pumpkins, doing sold out album release shows at the Metro in their hometown on the way to stardom.
I saw them play at House Cafe in Dekalb and I felt super old there lol, the Chicago shows haven’t been as bad yet but maybe they are catching up.
It definitely has. I remember when Prom Queen came out the crowd at the release show for that was like 90% people in the local scene, last night was probably the fewest familiar faces I've seen at a BB show in a while (even more so than the Thalia Hall show). It's a different vibe for sure. The pit does also not go as hard as it used to lol
all of Honeymoon (except Racetrack), all of Prom Queen, February and Boys EDIT: and Sports. not in that order but Honeymoon was first
I was at that show too and you’re absolutely right, it was a lot of their friends/people in the local scene/etc. I’m definitely happy they are getting huge but it is just a totally different vibe seeing them (crowd wise).
They can easily fill an hour. They did it last night and they don’t even play all the songs they’ve released (they don’t play a lot of the really older songs).
