Yeah, Shudder rules. There's at least a few more differences than usual this tour, but most of the time it's the same setlist each tour.
Shudder and KT are always the albums I point to when people say the band doesn't experiment. Those albums do some pretty interesting things here and there to spice things up. Killing Time is my favorite and Vacancy reminds me a lot of KT
My listening habits say I agree... Though I think Live at the Bayside Social Club is their best all-around album...I'll take Shudder as best studio I think.
"Two Letters" is really stellar, especially lyrically, among Anthony's best. There's also lots of great bridges on this album. Including: I’d die to prove I was once alive It’d be the most exciting thing I’d done in years But I don’t have the balls So let’s divide what we both know is mine Cause it’s just stuff You seem strangely ok with it And you’d still have to give a shit to try
"Two Letters" holds a great deal of meaning w/ me right now. The line "I don't know what to call you now" in particular.
Definitely a step up from Cult. I enjoy the Theatrics similar to Shudder. KT>Shudder>Bayside=WW>S&C>>>>Cult. I think this album is probably gonna sit right below KT. I enjoy it, but having trouble relating to the lyrics. The album seems to be about Anthony's divorce which I've never been through. Also, I thought most people disliked Shudder when it came out?
"Boy" is one of my absolute favorite Bayside songs, but man oh man is that riff a straight parrot of "Hating Every Minute" by Alkaline Trio.
That's really what made me lose interest in them. I was a huge fan a while ago, but I saw them so many times and saw the same set that it just started to become cumbersome at a point. They always played so little from Shutter that it was basically the same set from the time The Walking Wounded came out until Killing Time.
My pre-order came in but download isn't live yet and my record player is still in Florida. Cant win with trying to hear this record haha. But vinyl came out nice!
Yeah they pretty much play the hits, a few songs from whichever newest record is out, and then maaaaybe something a little different/something from Shudder. Anthony has said that's his least favorite Bayside album and it shows since they hardly ever play anything from it.
I am consistently surprised by how low people rank S&C in their catalog. That being said, it took around 20 shows to get "Talking of Michelangelo," the song that got me into them, and literally no one around me reacted. shrug
thats their best album imo, its so fucking good. talking of michelangelo is easily their best song imo
I've always had a soft spot for A Synonym For Acquiese and Michalangeo and basically that whole album it's tied with KT for my favorite
Could you post a picture? My preorder has been "received " for two days now and I'm curious what it actually looks like.
