Yeah I’m glad I barely listened to the EPs or the singles besides the devils so this will be a mostly fresh experience
So stoked for this. Going in mostly fresh tomorrow with the exception of listening to the first couple singles back when they came out. Nothing like a new Bayside record!
As a lover of mid-era Bayside (TTW, Shudder, KT) I've always thought they are better at the poppier/punkier songs. I can't at all get into the sorta metal/dramatic/nursery rhyme-melody stuff, it just feels too corny for me - The Devils and Strangest Faces being a great example of that. Go To Hell, Good Advice and I'm so Happy I Could Die, however, are all absolute top tier Bayside tunes.
I haven't listened to too much of this yet, but this is essentially my stance on Bayside at this time. One of my favorite bands ever, but this new style is starting to grate a little bit. Obviously I'll give it a go and hear it in context though.
Good album. The remaining 2 songs that were unheard are probably my least favorite. Weird to be ready for a new bayside album the day one comes out.
Album absolutely rocks. Say So Long really feels like it would be right at home on Killing Time. Bayside never disappoints.
WW Killing Time Interrobang Shudder Bayside Vacancy Cult The first one haven’t listened to the new one yet
My main impressions the first full listen was that I kept thinking I'd hear a song I hadn't already heard earlier, that so many of the EP songs are really good, and that it maybe felt like a concept album about dying/going to hell?
This whole thing is awesome but man is it weird that "Strangest Faces" is basically two years old on a new album. Like, I remember being so excited when this song came out right around the same time as "Oldest Daughter" by TWY...
