Decided to do VIP for night one. I’ll probably get my ticket for night 2 but want to wait for setlists before I commit. Back to back concert nights is rough for my old ass even if it’s a weekend lol
Picked up my tickets to both nights in SF. I'm really grateful for my good luck that planted the two nights during my Summer Break from work. I haven't been this excited to see Bayside in a really long time.
That’s great. Figured they would do longer sets with only one opener. The only band I’ve ever seen do small sets for these kinds of tours is The Used lol
He also said Guardrail is gonna be played for sure on the tour. He said he’s really excited to play Seeing Sound. Others that are in a maybe list are Boy and Stuttering, IIRC.
He also said Choice Hops was on the list of songs being considered. Easily my favorite Bayside song of all-time and shockingly saw it live in 2016.
Oh yea, just remembered. He said the new Devotion and Desire is just an updated recording basically. It’s played like they do at a live show these days. It’ll sound better, but it’s the same song, no major departures.
Gonna be wild to see them not close with Devotion and Desire on the second night. I've seen the band 15+ times and they've closed with D&D every time outside of the acoustic tour and Anthony has repeatedly said they'll always close with it. My guess is second night they close with Sick, Sick, Sick?
That was one of the major selling points of going both nights for me. That second night is gonna be unlike any Bayside show I’ve ever been to
I still don't expect too many surprises - for Night 2: The below songs are all in the KT/TWTTBA era that - according to setlist.fm are within the top 40 Bayside songs played live ever and all songs I have seen plenty of times live. Sick, Sick, Sick Already Gone Pigsty Prayers Big Cheese Stuttering Mary The Wrong Way Killing Time It Don't Exist Mona Lisa Go To Hell Interobang How to Ruin Everything Seeing Sound It's Not a Bad Little War Numb Strangest Faces I've Been Dead All Day I could see them adding Bury Me, Sinking & Swimming, The Devils or Pretty Vacant but I don't think they're going to pull out anything completely out of left field. I hope they do, but it probably wouldn't be more than 1 or 2 unusual selections.
They are purposefully going to play more deep cuts. While some of those songs will absolutely be played, I don’t think that’s the way they’re building the set.
Bayside rare cuts that I would like to see: Night 1: How to Fix Everything If You're Bored Kellum Just Enough to Love You We'll Be OK Choice Hops A Call to Arms Roshambo I Think I'll Be OK Moceanu (I've somehow seen this at least 3x) Night 2: On Love, On Life The Whitest Lie Two Letters (have seen) Not Fair It Doesn't Make it True WHITE FLAG
For those that tried to get 2-day tickets, you may want to check again. Cleveland was originally sold out of two-day tickets, but I just randomly checked and they're available again.
Ecstatic to be wrong about this, but Anthony confirmed in an IG video that they'll be doing 20 songs each night.
I wonder if they're going to keep things in rough chronological order, or if they'll mix everything up. When I saw the The Walking Wounded anniversary shows in 2017, they kept the album in order for one show but mixed things up for the one where they also played everything from Shudder. I kind of hope the albums from each album get grouped together to make it feel more like a "history of the band" set than a normal set that just happens to have songs from a few specific albums.
Anthony said that their focus will be on putting the songs in an order that feels right vs album order or anything like that.
