It has sorta theatrical vibes to me. I like it a lot, it's a Bayside song, but I do think it sounds different than their other stuff. I wonder if they weren't pleased with how the Interrobang rollout went, so they want to try something different.
sort of get "They're Not Unicorns" vibes from the guitars, which ain't a bad thing. This is very by the numbers Bayside but, it's so fascinating how they can consistently release the same sounding music but always find a way to make it fresh.
Very cool song. It definitely sounds like Bayside, but has a unique flavor to it. I do hear the "theatrical vibes", but to be honest, I feel like most Bayside songs have that haha
Yes it was quite a day! Somewhat unbelievable as both bands seemed much done permanently in my eyes. I'm trying to not get too over excited at the prospect of new music until they say more. I've been using this icon/username since like 2009 little did I know it would come together in such a funny way in 2022.
Anthony said on Instagram today that “the plan is there is no plan” and that they’re just gonna write and record when they’re inspired. Strangest Faces is one of three songs they wrote and recorded and they have additional studio time booked in October.
For a band that puts out consistently impressive albums with great sequencing I'm pretty bummed about this but still happy to get new music rather than nothing.
solid track, I really stopped listening to them over the years but I'm slowly getting back in over the weeks. Will try to catch Pier 17 show as well.
Yeah, we may as well move Bayside discussion back to the band thread and keep this on the back burner for the inevitable next album lol
At the very least, we’re getting an EP and it sounds like there’s a chance that it’s all ultimately packaged as an album when it’s all said and done.
