Red EP was really good. Kind of makes me think a Black EP may be next. Doing releases in stages work for me if they keep up the steady release of music.
I don’t really like the whole releasing EPs to an eventual album style but I did like the red EP so I’m looking forward to this.
I do prefer albums. I will take Ep’s though instead of single after single. It at least collects the songs in one place. If it takes too long for a band to do a 12 track album, I’ll take songs in batches of 3 while the band is still excited (and maybe the cohesive nature of the songs fit. TBD). I’ll still take any music though.
I think back in May, when Strangest Faces was released, Anthony said they were recording again in October, so my guess is we'll probably get this new song soon and then another 3-song EP in April(ish)
I don’t care if EPs become albums, but in the streaming age I really hate one off singles that don’t become part of any release
I mostly don't like it when I add a bunch of singles and they're clogging up my recently added section
If an EP has 4 or 5 perfect songs than I prefer it that way rather than having an LP with 10 songs from which 3-4 is a filler. Always quality over quantity.
Filler is a term I associate with bands who release singles and there was a huge drop off in other songs that feel just thrown in on an album so it can be released. I feel like most indie/DIY bands can avoid this (although some don’t).
That’s why I don’t mind robust album release cycles. If I really like a band I’ll tend to enjoy a strong majority of their songs (even if it’s to varying degrees). 10 song albums can be less to love sometimes.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. Everything about this one rips. Wow. Not sure exactly why, but this sounds has so much life in it. It just feels... different? In the best way.
Really unique song. Can't figure out what time signature it's in. Maybe 6/8? I think it's more than 1 actually.
