The Chicago show was announced a few months ago. It's a beer fest in the suburbs but the cheapest tickets are $42 and that doesn't even include any beer tickets.
Going to do everything in my power to get back home before that beer fest, which my family would probably go to anyways haha. The price though not including beer tix, yeesh.
It's only a few bucks more for 15 beer tickets. But who know much many tickets each beer will cost? 350 Brewing Co Presents: The Menzingers - Special Acoustic Performance
Mm yeah that's true. Also, since it's in your link, is the Menz performance only acoustic here then? If so, I'd have to think they pull off something special at night and do a headliner at a different venue, like they did last year on the TBS tour. Also, surprised the Menz aren't bigger than Bayside right now, thought it could have been a co-headliner.
honestly...i don't know at this point. haha. bayside is probably "bigger" but menzingers have more passionate fans that keep up with them at this point
I know Facebook likes aren't the best indicator but Bayside as 223,000 and The Menzingers have 68,000.
Just never imagined Bayside would headline venues this big with Menzingers serving as support. Definitely not the best indicator, but kind of surprising to me -- figured Menzingers would be bigger.
a lot of bayside's stuff is from being basically a legacy act at this point though sort of how menz pulled as much as mewithoutyou at that tour
read my post above: bayside is basically a legacy act at this point...they've been around much longer than menz, menz are surging in popularity where bayside is probably smaller than they were in 08 or so
I'd say the bands are pretty close when it comes to draw, but Bayside draws slightly better here. Probably depends on the market. The Menzingers coheadliner with MWY drew slightly less than the Bayside headliner with Senses Fail last year, but a lot of people left before The Menzingers while Bayside had a larger crowd for their headliner at the same venue. A lot of crossover in the fanbases though. I disagree with anyone who says Bayside is smaller than they were in 2008. They were never that big to begin with and I'd say they have kept a consistent fanbase if not drawing slightly better. They still play the same venues with the same size of bands. They did a few of supporting tours around that time with The Starting Line and NFG with a run on Warped and a headliner with The Matches from 2008-2009. I'd argue that they've done bigger tours since they by opening for TBS, ALK3, and coheadlining with Silverstein, Senses Fail, Saves The Day and Motion City Soundtrack. The band definitely hasn't lost much steam at all.
I'll hopefully be catching Bayside at Wrecking Ball depending on set time conflicts. These venues seem really big though. Orlando is a 5200 cap. Good for them though. Bayside definitely deserves to be playing larger venues.
