I kind of fell off with Bayside after Killing Time, but the singles off this grabbed my attention. about 2/3 of the way through and I love it. The lead guitarist (who writes the main riffs too? I dunno) has always been killer, but this is next level stuff. I assume I didn't miss too much between KT and this judging by some comments here?
Been listening to the menzingers all day but gave this a quick listen through and Heaven is definitely the standout for me but I definitely need to listen more
Cult and Vacancy each have a small handful of songs worth listening to at least once to see if they tickle your fancy, but this record is a step up from either in just about every possible way. They feel rejuvenated here.
Cult still has some bangers even though I'd view it as one of their weakest albums. I genuinely like Vacancy a lot. It's far too early for me to do a ranking with Interrobang.
I like Cult a lot and would probably put Vacancy as my 3rd favorite Bayside album. Most people are not that high on those two. On first listen, I think this is better than those two. My one worry was that this album was going to be super one-tone all throughout, but it actually doesn't feel that way at all
I've never been a huge Bayside fan. Not that I thought poorly of their previous work...they were just one of those bands I never got into. But wow. This album kills. Numb hit me like a ton of bricks.
Pretty much where I stand. Enjoyed the previous two albums but this seems to be in a league all its own.
I’ve never particularly cared for Bayside or Anthony’s vocals, but damn if this album isn’t a banger.
I don’t want to come in guns blazing with an unpopular opinion so I won’t all of these songs rip. I’m don’t know what they felt they had to prove, but they proved it.
I’ve never ranked their albums or made like a top 10 favorite songs list of theirs but I think I’m gonna start putting one together because those are usually fun and Bayside doesn’t have a weak album in their history which should make it both a challenge and a lot of fun.
Early track ranking for me: 1. Bury Me 2. Tall 3. White Flag 4. Interrobang 5. Prayers 6. Medication 7. Heaven 8. Numb 9. Trouble 10. Walk It Off Before anyone yells at me, I love all of these.
My partner says "the end of Numb reminds me of the oompa loompa song" and now it's ruined From 2:35 on
When I found out Bed Sores by fireworks was basically the chicken dance it took me years to get over. I'm not going to listen or think about the oompa loompa song ever again.
