I can't even pretend to understand or appreciate anything resembling this opinion, lol. Lex at his best has always been a cold and calculating foil to Superman's brawn and inherent goodness. Making him a rich version of the Joker strips him of his dynamic with Supes and makes him a crappy Joker knockoff.

But, I guess taste is subjective, so have fun liking your crappy Joker knockoff, my digital friend. ;)

  2. Only thing I still hate is Lois just throwing away the spear.. Just have her chilling there and get the spear knocked away into the water when the building she's in gets struck during the big battle. Throwing a kryptonite spear into a random pool in an abandoned building for no logical reason only to have her go back to try and retrieve it seemed so dumb.

I also liked this Lex. He was a welcome contrast to the everyone's brooding seriousness ha.

You know what else would have been a welcome contrast to brooding?

  4. I really liked Snyder and Cavill's Superman. Having him go through an existential crisis and wondering if he belongs was interesting to me. He's constantly doubting himself and whether or not he owes the world anything. Of course, by the end of BvS, he finally becomes Superman (hopeful, inspiring, etc.) through his "sacrifice," so I'd like to see more of that in JL.

  5. I actually thought the Ultimate edition was much better. Still not a great film, still lots of flaws, but I enjoyed it. I may even watch it again some day.

It's just so much easier to follow and understand than the theatrical cut.

Might have to get this on blu-ray at some point just so I can watch some of these bonus features:

Very curious to see that featurette on the upcoming Justice League films.

I'm assuming different retailers will have different exclusive features. Would be nice to form some kind of list for reference.

I really enjoyed the theatrical release, so I'm excited to catch the Ultimate Edition. I'm going to wait for a physical release to check it out, for all those features.

The way they break down Lex's plan made my literally laugh out loud. I still don't think the Martha scene is that bad, there is a lot of other issues to me that are bigger. Overall still a good film.

  15. I agree. As opposed to being physically strong or powerful, he represented what I see as powerful in 2016. Yeah, it borrowed a little from his Zuckerberg performance and Ledger's Joker, but I think it worked really well and he was easily one of my favorite parts of the film.

This is the kind of ish I was just talking about, haha

lulz. I'd like to believe posts like this are knowingly exaggerated and tongue-in-cheek enough to not be intimidating. Though, yes, Lex sucks in BvS, and people who like him should face the firing squad.

Lex was really good. I just wish there were more scenes explaining his plan more. I hope he is in SS and Justice League.

Lex was awful on every level. How are people defending him? I don't think I've seen one positive comment on him.

Yeah I also loved Eisenberg's Lex. Apparently I'm just a weird comic book fan as it is, although that should already be known lol

The script had major connecting and overstuffed issues but the scenes themselves were great in an awesome world with good characters. I'm so happy this movie exists just for the world it created.

I love how the comment above and below this are people being positive about Lex. You couldn't have planned it better.

But there is no defense. Just that they liked him. I want reasons. Does that clarify my post?

oh, gotcha. I loved how he was unhinged and unsettling. Granted I think we all love the "Lex always one step ahead with a plan while being calm and collected" better, but I don't go into movies (esp adaptions) with what I want in mind. Doing that always sets it up for failure IMO and I'd rather just enjoy what the movie is. I get the Joker comparisons, but he played the part that was written well and I believed he was a little crazy. If his plan was better explained in the overstuffed movie and had more focus, I would have no complaints with him in this movie.

    EDIT: Your avatar is amazing.

The film was so bad that Eisenberg wasn't the worst thing, but his portrayal was fucking lame o
