Looks like quite a bit of Clark story was cut. Poor Cavill.

What's so R-rated about that?! Unless she's Babs in disguise or something.

so anyone finished watching the Ultimate Edition?

Enjoying Jesse's acting on second viewing. I love how uncomfortable everything is when he's around.

I just watched the ultimate edition. The extra scenes make it a far better movie.

I'm a huge Superman fan who felt burned by the theatrical cut so I'm glad they added the scene where he's helping rescue the injured victims. Doesn't change much for his overall character but it helps. He still says some out of character not my superman shit but whatever.

Also I really liked Lex's portrayal in the theatrical cut so I'm glad his arc makes more sense here. I'm guessing he's more crazy towards the end because he did communion or whatever with Steppenwolf. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So that's pretty much the only problem I had with Lex, how he was inexplicably more crazy towards the end, and it now makes sense with that communion scene.
Wonder Woman and Superman still have no scenes where they talk to each other lol. Aside from that the movie as a whole is more cohesive and the Africa incident makes so much more sense.

Agreed. Although the bit where they go back and forth with the Kryptonite spear felt even more of a waste of time than ever.

I think July 19 for physical release.

I really don't understand the whole release early on demand or what not, I hate digital copies and never use them.

all of this is temporary Supporter

People who are eager to rewatch the film but want to own it physically may end up buying or renting the former, and then also buying the latter. Doesn't affect anyone else, and DVD/BD/VOD sales don't have a weekly ranking people care about like albums and the box office do.

In brief, it gets companies slightly more money, lol.

I stopped buying physical releases years ago anyhow. Blu-Ray rips and WEB downloads look pretty much the same anyhow.

I'm old fashioned and cant give up on the feeling of physically buying something and opening it up for the first time.

Same here. I do use the digital codes and sometimes buy movies on Vudu when they're on sale cheap but mostly I go for bluray

  18. Three hours is daunting to tackle. I downloaded it and am already not sure when I wanna try to watch it. Like fuck, Godfather 2 is my favorite movie ever and I struggle in one sitting.

It's a scientific fact no movie should be over 2 hours

    Unless there's a bedtime intermission

Always do the right thing. Supporter

A Brighter Summer Day is four hours and Chantal Akerman's Jeanne Dielman is three and a half, they're two of my favorite films of all time haha. But yeah I generally I find it rare that superhero movies can justify pushing up against two and a half hours. Civil War had that issue as well, though it being a much more entertaining film helped a little.

Never watched a three hour movie in one sitting before. Too much for me.

  22. I remember eating too much popcorn and getting sick when I saw King Kong in theaters, so I never got to finish it. Then I bought the DVD when it was released and fell asleep damn near every time I tried to watch it. I swear I never made it through that movie in one sitting.

I generally won't watch anything over 150 minutes unless it's Tarantino. If it's not, then it's certainly not happening in one sitting. I watched Wolf of Wall Street in two

Yeah it's difficult for me to sit straight through a two and a half - three hour movie. Hell, I usually have to take breaks with The Dark Knight even. Watched the first hour and a half of the Extended BvS the other night and will probably finish the second half this evening.

My girlfriend wanted to watch Gangs of New York on Monday night. One of her "favorite movies", she said. I say, "honey, it is 3 &1/2 hours long though". "No it's not", she said. I say "yes dear, it is, it is even split onto two discs. Here, I Googled it, it's 3 hours and 36 minutes long".

"No it's not, Cam. I've watched it a hundred times"... she said.

An hour and forty minutes in, we're prompted to enter disc two. She still wouldn't believe that her knowledge of film could be challenged by an Apatow-loving plebeian such as I, until all three and a half hours passed.

That being said, what a great movie. However, my attention span is still in shambles.

Glad this discussion is happening because I have a friend who gets annoyed when I don't want to watch long movies and it always makes feel like I should have a better attention span. So I'm glad it's not just me, ha. Usually the most I'm up for is two to two and half hours unless it's something I'm really interested in or a cast/director I really like.

If I was in the right mood I might be able to watch the extended BvS; it's the type of movie that my friends and I could talk through. But I already felt like the original version was way too long and I liked it so little that I can't imagine another half hour making it better.
