New tune Head Alight out now and its absolutely wonderful. Very excited for the full LP now, seems like its going to be super varied and detailed - hopefully there's not a bunch of two-chord progression tunes filling the rest of the tracklist (something I think PE and BM both suffered from).
Cool vibe. Feels a little interludey. Hopefully there’s more oomph in other new tracks like the title track and The Way I Feel.
Album is shaping up to be good. All the singles have grown on me. Just realized we're only a little over 2 weeks out.
Looks like records are shipping out so fingers crossed mine shows up before Friday, I'm hopeful since they're coming directly from MA. Would love a first listen to this on vinyl.
Mine shipped yesterday but hasn't moved yet. Really hoping to get it by Friday. The last RFC release I pre-ordered I didn't get until the following Tuesday.
These singles have really grown on me. Listened through them a few times last night. Just got shipping notification yesterday. Excited to see the pre-order print too!
One spin down and as a long time fan I'm pretty happy with this record, excited to let it sink in with more listens. Not really hearing much of the classic Basement sound but it still has some of the straightforward/faster rock tracks I was hoping for (Time Waster is one of the highlights for me). Love the sequencing of Time Waster -> Wired -> Deadweight. Only minor nitpick for me is a few moments where the vocals or drums sound a bit off to me. Very curious to see other reactions to this one.
So weird. I liked the singles wayyy more than what I'm hearing on the rest of the album. Maybe a lot of these songs are growers. Edit: Yeah, disregard. I can already tell everything's going to gel better soon, although I still don't understand that slowdown chorus on Deadweight.
Couple of spins in, this is super interesting. I will forgive the few two-chord progression tunes given how diverse the whole album is. Pick Up The Pieces is great, glad I pre ordered!
Deadweight is an early favorite and it’s great to hear the studio version of Time Waster. Perfect opener for this album. Summers End is a good closer too. Not a skipable track on this thing. My Vinyl should be here today too!
Pleasantly surprised by the musical diversity of this album. Really enjoying a lot of the slower tracks on here. The slowdown on Deadweight broke my brain in a good way.
