Feel like the new recording is pretty meh. I imagine this will make their music even more boring. Dug this band at first but haven't been into it lately. Good luck to them though.
yea the master is just a lot cleaner. guitars come in and the vocals just feel like they sit a lot better in the mix. IDK Its really grabbing me, hearing things very differently
Totally forgot this was out today. Gonna have to check out the deluxe on my drive today. Really didn't like the rerecorded version of Promise Everything, but hopefully the rest of the album grabs me since it's just remixed/remastered.
I'm very impressed, it just sounds like a completely different record. I only sort of liked it but now I see myself coming back to this a TON, wish more bands did stuff like this
Deluxe record sounds pretty good but the new version of the title track sticks out like a sore thumb.
Couldn't agree more. Loving the way the record sounds now, but holy shit the new version of the title track sounds AWFUL. It sounds like a demo version. Edit: I'm talking more about the vocals than anything else. It still doesn't fit because the instruments sound different since it wasn't recorded at the same time as the rest of the album.
They might as well have re-recorded the entire record or even put out an EP of a couple songs of their choosing to re-record.
Yup. Wouldn't feel so weird about the title track if it was a separate entity, but just sticking it in the record rerecorded is just odd.
As someone who didn't know the record well prior the song fits in perfectly for me. Not sure what people find wrong with the vocals
however i dont like how they removed the original Promise Everything on Spotify and kept just the deluxe. I hate, hate the remaster of the title track within the context of the record as it sounds so out of place.
Yeah, this can either go weird or more straightforward, really not sure what to expect. I hope it's more Citizen than Moose Blood.
