I've gotten copies of albums where the later pressing sounds better than the first pressing so I'm gonna call bullshit on that lol
Haha well damn - I guess I’m wrong then! No lie, I’ve heard that multiple times and I remember getting a later pressing of a Bayside record that sounded a little shittier than my friend’s copy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
different colors/patterns can affect the sound from what I understand! honestly not something I’ve noticed but I’ve seen that a lot as long as it sounds decent I usually don’t really care, not looking for perfection with vinyl
i would say some repressing labels aren’t as good and don’t use technology/vinyl as quality as others, so that might play into the bias, but that’s usually for classic albums getting modern represses. or if, like, epitaph licenses a release since their vinyl quality is garbage. but i’ve literally never heard of a pressing degrading in quality as one label continues to make further pressings for an album. like, ever.
yeah if that Bayside pressing was one of the victory ones well then that's your answer. actually hopeless was pretty bad until a few years ago I'd say
The tiny desk ruled. Love that version of Mustang. Seeing the drummer playing a music stand was wild haha
I saw that and was like WHAAAAAAA V excited for Bartees. Once touring resumes, he’s going to be put on BIG TIME.
Bloc Party would be nuts but you know what would be even more insane? The National bringing him on tour.
Love Bartees for calling this out. I live in Oakland and to see the rise of Asian American hate crimes truly breaks my heart. It’s terrifying and the worst part is that I’m not surprised. A lot of Americans showed their true colors during this pandemic and that color is ugly (among other things). Super sad stuff.
