I saw him last night and it was great, fantastic band that supports him too. I do was a little surprised that there weren't more people, I think around fifty, small venue, I thought this man was getting bigger because of the last album. New songs sounded great too.
Short notice shows around his support slots with the National can only do so well but he'll pick up a lot of new fans at the arena gigs.
Oh, my bad, didn't know he was supporting The National on this tour, damn, why has The National been skipping Belgium again.
Not a popular opinion but I didn’t love Farm to Table. There’s like 3 songs or so I really like but was kind of a miss for me after the debut, which I loved. I think he still has a ton of promise though.
I was just thinking about Bartees last night out of the blue. I love both albums, have seen him live a few times, but his name popped in my head while I was driving yesterday and thought 'damn, I haven't listened in a while or heard any buzz about him whatsoever in a long time.'
I mean he's a year and change out from his second album and is doing support slots for a big band like the National before he hunkers down and finishes the next record. You should listen again!
This album is pretty boring but the few songs he played from it popped off live. When I saw him earlier this year it was like 70% Live Forever, 30% the good songs from this one so I think he knows where he excels. Next one should be better
