The cinematography, acting, and script are captivating. I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve used that to describe anything as an adult. Barry’s moments of letting his mind wander in claustrophobic scenes that morph into beautiful wide open landscapes with memories takes your emotions for a ride. Comedic to gripping to heartfelt to anxious. We’ve watched him slowly detach from the happy reality he built for himself. It’s grim, but I feel like it’s 100% expected and the right way to go. Barry was never going to walk away from this life the way he hoped.
The scene with Sally dreaming of the potential kid in front of her though it’s actually the dude she murdered AND THEN the dream sequence with Hank and Barry. This fucking show
watching these again, they're def funnier than my first impression. the fed asking if Fuches is still mad at him is gold (speaking of which I hope my man Albert shows up soon)
Well, this is one of now two things that I didn't understand on my first watch, didn't make the connection that it was meant to be that guy. Just thought that was a super creepy scene out of nowhere lol Also didn't make the connection until earlier today that the "dog" Sally was asking Barry about was that guy she killed too but that one is on me
Is no one mentioning how fucked up Sally's parents were? Definitely explains a lot about her personality.
really recommend listening to these interviews with Bill Hader every week. Great stuff in here (including a Paul Rudd connection near the end)
Every time this show has a season premiere I forget between seasons that it is only 30 minutes and when the end credits roll it is always jarring.
Solid first two episodes. Hank running around the table at Dave and Buster's to sync up with Cristobal killed me.
Great episode, love that I'm still getting laughs at this show even with how fucking bleak it's gotten (like the whole sequence with Gene and his agent breaking into the house). Barry's call with Hank was so well done though, and yeah that last few minutes were fucking nuts, can't wait to see where that goes. The Fred appearance gave it just the right level of surreal humor too
